$XRP may appear stuck in a frustrating range, but beneath the surface, important signals are beginning to take shape. As prices compress and key levels hold, shifting momentum and developing patterns suggest that a larger move could be building just out of sight.

68 Days Of Consolidation: $XRP Still Stuck Below Resistance

$XRP continues to navigate a period of significant stagnation, now marking its 68th consecutive day ranging below a primary resistance level. According to analyst CasiTrades, while the daily price action may feel volatile to some, the overarching macro perspective remains unchanged. The asset is currently caught in a prolonged phase of sideways movement, designed to test the patience of investors before a decisive trend is established.

Two potential macro scenarios currently dictate the path forward for $XRP. To flip the market bullish, the asset needs to achieve a clean break and hold above the $1.65 level, which aligns with the .618 Fibonacci retracement. Conversely, if the market loses its current footing, the analyst is watching for a deeper correction into macro support zones located at $1.09 and $0.87, representing the .786 and .854 levels, respectively.

On a more local timeframe, $XRP is effectively trapped within a very tight corridor that is generating significant market chop. A floor of support defines this immediate range at $1.28 and a ceiling of resistance at $1.39.

A critical pivot point to watch is the $1.28 local support. Data from the derivatives tool CoinGlass also suggests that market participants, both long-term and short-term holders, appear to be following the same bullish trend.

CHZ’s Spot Inflow/Outflow metrics reveal that, over the past five days, long-term holders have continued to withdraw tokens from exchanges. Additionally, over the past 48 hours, exchanges have recorded an outflow of $175K worth of tokens, hinting at potential accumulation.

On the other hand, the Exchange Liquidation Map shows that intraday traders are heavily betting on $0.0408 on the lower side and $0.0442 on the upper side.

At these levels, they have built approximately $1.14 million worth of long-leveraged positions and $525K worth of short-leveraged positions, indicating that traders are anticipating further price upside.

The American Bankers Association (ABA) fired back at a White House Council of Economic Advisers (CEA) report, arguing it ignored the real risk stablecoin yield poses to community banks. The CEA paper concluded that prohibiting yield on payment stablecoins would increase total bank lending by just $2.1 billion, or 0.02% of all loans. It estimated consumers would lose roughly $800 million annually in forgone returns. ABA Warns of Deposit Flight as Stablecoins Scale The ABA said the CEA “studied the wrong question.” Rather than modeling the impact of a ban, the ABA argued policymakers should examine what happens when yield-paying stablecoins scale rapidly. The banking group warned that stablecoins backed by Treasuries and offering competitive returns could pull cheap deposits away from community banks. That shift would raise funding costs and reduce local lending to small businesses, farmers, and homebuyers. The Treasury Department previously estimated $6.6 trillion in deposits could be at risk. “By focusing on the effects of a prohibition, the CEA paper risks creating a misleading sense of safety by avoiding the much more consequential scenario: yield-paying payment stablecoins scaling quickly,” read an excerpt in the ABA Banking Journal. Senate Faces Two-Week Window on Clarity Act The dispute lands as the Senate returns from recess with a narrow window to advance the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has publicly urged passage, while SEC Chair Paul Atkins and CFTC Chair Michael Selig said their agencies are ready to implement the bill immediately. According to Senator Cynthia Lummis, the CLARITY Act risks a four-year delay until after 2030 if it does not pass now. Stablecoin yield remains the single issue blocking the bill.
