$AVAX, the native cryptocurrency of Avalanche network, jumped over 2% during Wednesday’s U.S. to trade at $9.53. A primary catalyst to this surge can be attributed to market-wide recovery as the U.S and Iran reportedly reached an “in-principle agreement” to extend the existing two-week ceasefire. However, the Avalanche price gained additional traction following the official launch and trading debut of the Bitwise Spot Avalanche ETF, BAVA.

Bitwise Launches BAVA ETF Offering 5.4% $AVAX Yield

Bitwise Asset Management has rolled out a new exchange-traded fund giving investors direct access to the Avalanche blockchain. Since April 15, 2026, the fund trades under the ticker BAVA on the New York Stock Exchange and holds $AVAX tokens in a network applied in real-world use and various projects of governmental interest.

The company will collateralize its $AVAX assets by using its own unit of on-chain operations. The structure is to earn the network average 5.4 percent staking yields without locking up assets required to meet daily liquidity requirements. The product is accompanied by vivid warnings: the cryptocurrency markets are extremely volatile, and investors may lose the majority or all the capital.

Bitcoin Briefly Surges to $75K Before Easing

The latest moves came after a firmer run earlier in the week.

Bitcoin had moved above 1% or more over that period and reclaimed some of the key technical levels. But the rise over $75,000 was significant because it coincided with widely watched moving averages. These levels are frequently used to inform short-term trading decisions. Even though the price pulled back slightly, the structure remains stable for now.

Institutional demand has played a central role in the latest rally. Data shows that U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds recorded net inflows of about $411.5 million on April 15. This marked one of the largest daily inflows for the month. A major share of this came from BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust, which alone added roughly $214 million. These inflows indicate steady interest from large investors and provide direct support to prices.

At the same time, overall market conditions have also contributed to the move. Traditional financial markets have shown signs of stability. The S&P 500 has moved higher, and Bitcoin continues to show a strong correlation with it. Current data places this correlation at around 86%. This indicates that macro factors such as liquidity and risk appetite are influencing crypto prices.

Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire told Reuters in Hong Kong that there is a "tremendous opportunity" for a yuan-backed stablecoin, predicting China could roll one out within three to five years as digital currencies become more integrated into global trade and finance.

The framing marks a shift from speculative idea to something closer to policy alignment. Reuters reported in August 2025 that Chinese officials were exploring a yuan-backed stablecoin to boost international adoption, a notable turn for a country that has banned crypto trading and mining since 2021.

Allaire has been making this case since at least 2023, when he argued stablecoins could outperform central bank digital currencies as a vehicle for RMB internationalization. At the time, Beijing’s stance looked firmly opposed. Authorities arrested individuals linked to CNHC, an offshore yuan stablecoin, and later that year reiterated restrictions on virtual currencies.

In the years since, stablecoins are now being treated less as speculative crypto products and more as financial infrastructure for cross-border settlement.

However, for China to launch a yuan stablecoin, Beijing would need to make the RMB fully convertible. It means that foreigners and markets would need to be able to freely exchange yuan in and out without tight government restrictions on capital flows or limits on how much money flows into and out of the country.

Without such full convertibility, a yuan stablecoin would be impossible, according to experts.

However, as of now, capital controls remain a pillar of Chinese economic policy, and a stablecoin backed by the offshore yuan (CNH) is a meaningfully different instrument than one backed by the onshore yuan (CNY) — the former fits within existing controls, the latter doesn't.

According to analyst Ali Martinez, XRP appears to be trading within a long-standing ascending triangle pattern on the monthly chart — a structure that has been forming since 2017.
An ascending triangle is typically defined by a flat resistance level and a rising support trendline. Price tends to oscillate between these two boundaries until a decisive breakout occurs, often leading to a strong directional move.
Martinez noted that XRP has repeatedly been rejected from the upper resistance zone over the years, while continuing to find support along its rising trendline. Most recently, in August 2025, XRP once again failed to break above resistance and has since been gradually moving lower within the pattern.
Based on this structure, the analyst suggests that XRP could revisit the key support region around $0.75–$0.80, which may represent a significant long-term accumulation zone if the pattern continues to hold.
As the triangle approaches its apex, historical TA theory suggests that volatility increases and a breakout becomes more likely. Ascending triangles are generally considered bullish continuation patterns, meaning an upside breakout could be the higher-probability outcome.
“If a 9-year consolidation finally breaks, the move is usually historic,” the analyst noted, adding that XRP’s next major cycle could be substantial if the pattern resolves to the upside.
