Ecoanalítica Proposes Venezuelan Stablecoin to Solve Dollar Woes

As the Venezuelan economy faces headwinds because of the currency controls and the exclusion of small and medium enterprises from the dollar assignment system, cryptocurrencies can be part of the solution to these issues.

In a recent note, Alejandro Grisanti, founder and CEO of Ecoanalitica, an economic consulting firm, highlighted the advantages of issuing a stablecoin to help correct dollar distribution issues derived from the implementation of an auction system that allows different exchange rates for the greenback.

Grisanti proposes “the implementation of a system based on stablecoins integrated into the formal financial system, subject to strict regulation and featuring AML/KYC compliance mechanisms,” in addition to the controlled import of cash to allow small and medium-sized companies without banking accounts in the U.S. to operate using dollars in the local market.

Grisanti’s proposal suggests the issuance of a dollar stablecoin specially designed for the country, which would feature traceability, operational control, and shared auditing with international partners.

During this time, there have been ups and downs for digital assets as interest fluctuated with the bear markets. Given the fact that both of these ETFs were approved in the same month, this report looks into their performances, comparing the funds to see which digital asset has drawn the most interest from investors.

Dogecoin ETFs Performance In 6 Months
The initial response to the Dogecoin ETFs was excitement back in November 2025, as the expectation had been building for a while. Once the ETFs launched, though, it was quickly evident that interest was not as high as expected. According to data from the SoSoValue website, the inflow in the first month came out to $2.16 million, with total net assets sitting at $6.29 million.

While the following months would see better inflow numbers, they were not exactly much better. For example, the cumulative total net inflow for December 2025 was $2.34 million, only slightly higher than the $2.16 million recorded in October.

January 2026 has come out as the best month for the Dogecoin ETFs so far, with a cumulative total net inflow of $6.41 million. This had brought the total net assets above $10 million for the first time. However, since then, the Dogecoin ETFs have been unable to replicate this.

As for the month of April, there have only been two days of inflows/activity despite being two weeks in. The site recorded inflows of $1.34 million on Friday, April 10, and $187,370 on Tuesday, April 14, bringing the total net assets to $10.8 million. But since then, there has been no other activity for the Dogecoin ETFs.

Founding partner at Castle Island Ventures Nic Carter has laid out what he sees as three plausible paths for Bitcoin as the industry moves toward post-quantum cryptography: freeze vulnerable early coins, leave them untouched and accept the consequences, or pursue a legal “salvage” process that avoids a protocol-level confiscation.

The debate matters because, in Carter’s framing, roughly 1.7 million BTC in old pay-to-pubkey outputs could become exposed if Bitcoin eventually deprecates elliptic curve signatures and a cryptographically relevant quantum computer arrives.

The Third Option In Bitcoin’s Satoshi Coin Battle
In a post on X, Carter argued that the Overton window around quantum risk has shifted quickly. What was recently treated as a fringe concern, he wrote, is now increasingly being discussed as an eventual engineering and governance problem for Bitcoin itself. “The thing about the PQ transition is, it’s impossible as a Bitcoiner to claim that this protocol is cutting edge technology if Bitcoin, a monetary system predicated entirely on cryptography, is a laggard,” he wrote, adding that betting the fate of the network on the hope that the technology does not advance would be both reckless and embarrassing.

From there, Carter sketched the upgrade path he expects. After a soft fork, Bitcoin would likely move through an intermediate phase in which users could sign with existing ECC-based schemes or with new post-quantum signatures. Eventually, he wrote, legacy signatures such as ECDSA and Schnorr would be disallowed entirely. That transition, in his telling, is the easy part. The harder question comes later: what to do with coins that never migrate.

He framed that dispute as a clash between two camps already taking shape. On one side are institutions, custodians, exchanges, and fiduciaries that would view a freeze of non-migrated

MemeCore [M] rose by more than 35% in the past hours after breaking a key resistance level and went on to print a new peak of $3.88. Can bulls maintain the price above the broken resistance level in the $3 zone?

MemeCore price action makes a new $ATH

In late March, MemeCore’s price broke out of a sideways consolidation that had held the altcoin since late November 2025. Over the past three weeks, M has been making new daily highs but struggling to break past $3.

However, the altcoin made a new all-time high ($ATH) after a surge in buying activity, indicated by the RSI Divergence flipping bullish. The RSI divergence reading was at 9, while the MACD indicator showed that buyer momentum was growing.

The breakout suggested the accumulation phase around $3 was over and M had entered a bullish momentum phase. However, price rallies tend to correct after such an aggressive breakout.

The question remains if bulls can manage to keep the price of M above $3. This would make the $5 price target remain a possibility in this second quarter (Q2) of the year.

Notably, traders could anticipate a snap-back to $3 to confirm the validity of the breakout. A successful retest would need bulls who pumped massive capital just below $3 to defend the previous supply zone that had turned to a demand zone.

The rally was driven by aggressive buys, with daily trading volume exploding by 146% to around $27.26 million. The altcoin saw the biggest volume bars since the start, indicating increased trading activity of the token.

Pi is trading between $0.165 and $0.178 and has been stuck there for weeks. The price story is bearish, but everything around it is not.

Where the Price Stands

The important level to watch is $0.171. Until Pi closes a daily candle above it, the recovery thesis stays on hold. Resistance stacks up quickly above that level:

20-day EMA at $0.175

50-day EMA at $0.181

100-day EMA near $0.19

The one constructive signal in the charts is the MACD, which has flattened to zero for the first time since February. That indicates selling pressure is fading. It does not confirm that buyers have arrived yet, but the shift in momentum is worth noting.

The Upgrade Deadline Nobody Should Miss

The most immediate event is the April 27 deadline for all node operators to upgrade to Protocol 22. Miss it, and nodes get disconnected from the network. No exceptions.

This deadline is part of a broader upgrade sequence that is moving faster than most Pi holders realise:

April 22: Protocol 22.1 rollout begins the upgrade cycle

April 27: Hard deadline for Protocol 22 compliance

May 18: Protocol 23 expected to introduce smart contracts

Beyond that: Early signals point to a push toward Protocol 26 before Pi2Day

Developers are already being told to prepare their applications for smart contract compatibility. That is a meaningful shift in what Pi could support as a platform.

The Fundamentals Stacking Up

Away from the price chart, three developments stand out this week:

18 million KYC-verified users. Pi continues to argue that its user base is different from that of every other crypto network. These are confirmed humans, not wallet addresses.

A whale accumulated 350 million PI. Large accumulation at current prices signals someone with long-term conviction is buying the range rather than exiting it.
