Coinbase Stock Daily Chart Keeps a Constructive, Incomplete Recovery On the daily chart, COIN closed at 197.96. That is above both the 20-day EMA at 192.99 and the 50-day EMA at 193.02. As a result, the near-term structure remains stable and buyers have regained control of the short-term trend.

The Math Behind the $22,000 Target Is Specific – and Demanding

Lee’s ratio math is straightforward. The ETH/BTC long-term average sits near 0.048. The 2021 cycle peak hit 0.087.

Applied to a $250,000 Bitcoin price Lee’s stated fair value, those ratios produce ETH targets of roughly $12,000 and $21,750, respectively.

The $22,000 figure is essentially the bull case of the bull case: peak ratio, peak BTC assumption, both arriving at the same time.
The AI-blockchain demand component is where Lee diverges from a pure ratio trade. His argument: AI agents operating autonomously in the global economy will need a payment layer that functions 24/7 without correspondent banking dependencies.

Ethereum’s uninterrupted uptime record and decentralized validator set make it the default candidate. Lee also cited stablecoin transaction volumes surpassing Visa’s annual throughput, a claim that holds up. Ethereum-based stablecoin volumes (USDC, USDT, DAI combined) ran approximately $220 trillion annualized in 2025, against Visa’s $12.2 trillion.

That data point is not speculative.

On supply, Lee’s position at BitMine adds direct context. The firm holds more than 4% of all circulating Ethereum and generates over $300 million annually from staking rewards, which places Lee’s bullish thesis in direct financial proximity to his institution’s balance sheet.

That conflict of interest is worth naming. It does not make the thesis wrong. It does mean the assumptions deserve scrutiny.

The reference to psychohistory belongs to Isaac Asimov’s Foundation universe, where Hari Seldon uses mathematics, statistics, and social dynamics to forecast the behavior of very large populations and shorten the dark age after the Galactic Empire’s collapse.

The Encyclopedia of Science Fiction describes Asimovian psychohistory as an “Imaginary Science,” while Seldon’s work is a plan that predicts future events and preserves knowledge through systemic breakdown.

Senator accuses ‘banking cartel’ of trying to kill stablecoin legislation
Bernie Moreno accused major U.S. banks of lobbying against stablecoin legislation ahead of a key Senate Banking Committee vote this week. This escalates tensions between the traditional banking industry and crypto firms over the future of digital dollar payments.
The comments followed the circulation of a letter from American Bankers Association President and CEO Rob Nichols urging bank executives to contact lawmakers before the committee votes on digital asset legislation.

In the letter, Nichols warned that the current proposal could “incentivize the flight of bank deposits into payment stablecoins.” He added that the bill does not adequately prevent crypto companies from offering interest-like rewards on stablecoins.

Moreno responded publicly on X, calling the banking industry a “cartel” attempting to protect its control over deposits and payment infrastructure.
“The banking cartel is in full panic mode,” Moreno wrote. “Now that innovative stablecoins threaten to break their monopoly and give you actual financial freedom? They’re running to Congress again.”

Moreno also criticized banks for allegedly supporting debanking efforts during the Biden administration and accused them of trying to shield themselves from competition.
