Crypto sleuth ZachXBT called out Sam Altman’s Worldcoin in a post responding to Elon Musk’s “Scam Altman” broadside, saying the project deserves far more scrutiny than it gets.

ZachXBT said Worldcoin launched the $WLD token with a predatory low float on par with Sam Bankman-Fried’s FTX companies, and preyed on people in low-income countries by exchanging small token amounts for biometric data.

With $ETH trading near $2,320, Ethereum price today is sitting at a genuinely important inflection point between a stable daily structure and weakening short-term momentum.

Main scenario: Neutral on the daily chart

The daily timeframe sets the macro bias, and right now that bias is best described as neutral with a slight constructive tilt. $ETH closed at $2,320.20, above the 20-day EMA at $2,294.83 and the 50-day EMA at $2,241.80, which keeps the medium-term structure stable.

At the same time, price remains well below the 200-day EMA at $2,630.53, so the market is still trading under a major long-term trend barrier. That is not a clean bull trend. Instead, it is a recovery attempt inside a broader damaged structure.

The message from the daily chart is straightforward. $ETH has room to stay bid as long as it keeps defending the short- and medium-term trend base. However, upside conviction will remain limited until the market starts reclaiming higher resistance zones rather than stalling beneath them.

Daily structure: trend intact, but not decisive

On the daily timeframe, the EMA structure is mixed in a meaningful way. Price is above the 20-day and 50-day EMA, which supports the idea that recent pullbacks are still corrective rather than outright trend failure. However, $ETH remains below the 200-day EMA, which shows the larger trend has not fully repaired.

In plain terms, the market has improved, but it has not escaped the gravitational pull of the broader downtrend. Moreover, the RSI on the daily chart is 53.93. That is neither overheated nor weak.

It sits in the middle ground, which usually fits a market that is trying to build a base rather than explode in either direction. That tells you buyers still have some breathing room, but there is no momentum excess forcing a breako

South Korea’s internet-only lender K bank has signed a strategic partnership with Ripple to test blockchain-based overseas remittances, marking another bank-facing expansion for Ripple’s payments infrastructure in Asia.

The agreement, announced Monday by K bank and first reported by The Korea Herald, was signed at the lender’s headquarters in Seoul. K bank CEO Choi Woo-hyung and Ripple Asia-Pacific Managing Director Fiona Murray attended the ceremony alongside officials from both companies.

The partnership centers on whether Ripple’s global network and blockchain infrastructure can improve the speed, cost efficiency and transparency of K bank’s overseas remittance system. For Ripple, the deal extends its long-running institutional payments strategy into South Korea’s digital banking market. For K bank, it gives the lender a live testing track for blockchain-based cross-border settlement at a time when stablecoins and tokenized payment rails are becoming a more serious part of bank-level infrastructure discussions.

“We are pleased to partner with K bank, which has helped set the standard for digital banking in Korea and continues to drive innovation,” Murray said. “This partnership will help strengthen K bank’s competitiveness in blockchain-based overseas remittance technology,” Choi said.

K bank is already conducting a proof of concept with Ripple for overseas remittances. According to the bank, the first phase tested transfers through a separate application, while the second phase is now assessing transaction stability by virtually linking customer accounts with internal systems. That detail is notable because it suggests the project is moving beyond a standalone test environment and toward a model that examines how blockchain-based remittance infrastructure could interact with bank-side account architecture.

Bitcoin has rallied roughly 14% this month, its best monthly performance in a year, and the consensus is that the price could soon push past $80,000, a level not seen since January.

Yet the perpetual futures market, which is typically in sync with spot price action, is behaving as if the opposite is true. Specifically, the funding rate — a figure that's positive when the futures are positioned for a bitcoin price increase and negative when positioned for a drop — is currently below zero.

That has left market participants searching for an explanation. While many read the divergence as a signal that traders lack confidence in bitcoin's recent performance and are positioned for a drop, that's not the only explanation.

According to 10x Research's Founder Markus Thielen, who predicted a rally to $125,000 way back in early 2023, the situation is, in fact, being driven by hedging activity from institutions. Instead of the shots being called by retail traders, the negative funding rate represents a structural change in the market brought on by the increasing participation of sophisticated players.

Why the funding rate matters

Perpetual futures are contracts that track bitcoin's price without ever expiring, unlike standard futures listed on an exchange like the CME. To keep futures prices tethered to spot prices, exchanges charge a periodic fee, the funding rate.

When the futures prices are higher than spot, meaning buyers are more aggressive in the futures market, longs (investors who own the futures) pay shorts (who've sold contracts they didn't own in expectation they will be able to buy them back at a lower price). In that case, the funding rate is positive.

When futures trade below spot, it's a sign short pressure is dragging futures down relative to actual bitcoin, shorts pay longs and the rate goes negative.
