This statement aligns with current market conditions, but the real benefits will depend on the widespread adoption of the protocol by mining pools and miners. Foundry and AntPool are among the largest Bitcoin mining pools in terms of hashrate. Their role gives the working group greater market influence than previous protocols. According to hashrate index data cited in recent reports, Foundry controls nearly 30% of global mining pool hashrate, while AntPool controls approximately 17.7%. Their participation could help Stratum V2 move from technical work to wider adoption. Miners still face pressure. Crypto.news reports that CoinShares estimates 15% to 20% of global Bitcoin mining is unprofitable.
