Technical outlook: Bitcoin shows mild technical weakness and holds support

Bitcoin trades at $80,845, holding a constructive bullish bias as price sits above the 50-day and 100-day Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs) near $76,018 and $76,546, as well as the SuperTrend support around $75,648. The 200-day EMA at roughly $81,982 now acts as the next notable upside barrier. A Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) histogram slightly above zero, together with a Relative Strength Index (RSI) around 61 on the daily chart, suggests persistent, though not extreme, bullish momentum backing the latest advance.
On the downside, initial support is expected from the 100-day EMA at $76,546, reinforced by the 50-day EMA at $76,018 and the SuperTrend line near $75,648 if a deeper pullback unfolds. On the topside, a clear daily close above the 200-day EMA resistance at $81,982 would likely open the door for further gains, whereas repeated failure to overcome this hurdle could trigger consolidation or a corrective phase back toward the clustered EMA and SuperTrend supports.

Saylor posted “Back to work. $BTC” on May 10, signaling Strategy’s return to bitcoin accumulation after a one-week pause.

Strategy holds 818,334 $BTC worth ~$66.15 billion, with a +7.02% unrealized gain as of May 10, 2026.

Saylor said Strategy may sell 1 $BTC to fund STRC dividends while buying 10 to 20 more.

The social media post came alongside a chart showing Strategy, formerly known as Microstrategy, holding 818,334 $BTC valued at approximately $66.15 billion. The company’s average purchase cost sits near $75,537 per coin, with an unrealized gain of 7.02%.

One week earlier, on May 3, Saylor posted the inverse message: “No buys this week. Back to work next week. $BTC.” That pause marked the second break in Strategy’s near-weekly purchase streak in 2026 and coincided with the company’s quiet period ahead of its Q1 2026 earnings release on May 5.

Public companies typically avoid large capital transactions before an earnings call to comply with financial regulations and prevent any appearance of selective disclosure. For Strategy, that timing made a temporary halt in bitcoin purchases routine procedure.

Sunday’s post effectively flips the switch back to accumulation mode. Saylor’s phrase “back to work” and other cryptic hints have become a recognizable signal for markets and followers: the quiet period has ended, and purchase disclosures are expected in the next 24 hours. Typically, Strategy and Saylor announce such matters at 8 a.m. on Monday mornings.

Before the pause, Strategy had been accumulating at a rapid pace, adding tens of thousands of $BTC throughout April, funded through its preferred stock instrument STRC. During the Q1 earnings call, Saylor addressed the instrument directly. Strategy’s STRC Series A Perpetual Stretch Preferred Stock carries an annual dividend yield of approximately 11.5%.

Ethereum price today holds $2,334 as bulls still lack momentum proofFor now, Ethereum price today points to a market that has stabilized after earlier weakness, but the broader recovery still lacks clear momentum confirmation.

Main Scenario: Neutral on the Daily Chart

Ethereum is trading around $2,334.71, and the daily chart still leans neutral-to-bullish. Price sits above the 20-day and 50-day EMAs. That tells you buyers have managed to stabilize the market after the earlier weakness.

That said, $ETH remains well below the 200-day EMA, so the bigger recovery is incomplete. This is not a clean trend breakout yet. Instead, it is a market trying to build a base while momentum remains hesitant.

What matters now is the tug-of-war between improving structure and fading momentum. On the daily timeframe, Ethereum is holding in the upper half of its recent range. However, the MACD has softened, and price is pressing into nearby resistance rather than expanding cleanly.

In other words, the market is not breaking down, but it also has not earned a full bullish conviction call. As of 2025, that leaves the macro bias fairly clear: neutral, with a slight constructive tilt as long as $ETH keeps defending short-term moving averages.

Price is above the 20-day EMA at $2,316.62 and the 50-day EMA at $2,274.78, but still below the 200-day EMA at $2,628.00. That leaves Ethereum caught between short-term recovery and unfinished higher-timeframe damage.

The hourly chart does not fully confirm a fresh upside leg yet. $ETH is hovering just under the 20-hour EMA, almost on top of the pivot, and momentum on that timeframe has cooled. Moreover, the 15-minute chart is even more compressed, showing a market that is rotating rather than trending.
