Analyst Michaël van de Poppe has explained that strength has been building across multiple days, adding a warning alongside the optimism. “Before everyone gets too excited, it’s very healthy to have some consolidative days before we continue the journey higher,” he said. His near-term target is the 50-week moving average sitting around $90,000, a level he expects Bitcoin to reach as the typically bullish first weeks of the month play out.

Kevin O’Leary says Wall Street’s tokenization boom is all talk without crypto rulesMiami Beach, FL — Kevin O’Leary says Wall Street’s tokenization boom is mostly hype until Congress finally gives the crypto industry the rules it has been waiting for.

“Tokenization will never be adopted by institutional indexers, ever. Neither will bitcoin, which is still a fringe asset to the big guys,” O’Leary said at Consensus in Miami, arguing that large investors still see most digital assets as uninvestable without clear federal regulation.

Speaking at Consensus Miami 2026, the investor and “Shark Tank” personality argued that regulatory uncertainty is still preventing large financial firms from fully embracing blockchain-based assets.

He said the turning point will come only when the U.S. establishes a formal legal framework for digital assets. “It has to become compliant globally within the [Securities and Exchange Commission] with an actual passage of a bill,” he said. “When that occurs, it’s going to change everything.”

The comments come as Wall Street firms increasingly experiment with tokenization — the process of turning assets like stocks, bonds or funds into blockchain-based digital tokens that can trade continuously and settle instantly. Advocates argue the technology could modernize financial infrastructure by reducing settlement times and lowering costs.

Bitcoin eyes $83K as Trump pauses Strait of Hormuz military operation, Iran signals cooperation

Bitcoin climbed past $82,800 this morning as signs of de-escalation between the US and Iran boosted risk appetite, putting the asset within reach of $83,000.

The rally came after President Donald Trump said the US will temporarily halt its Strait of Hormuz escort mission, known as Project Freedom operation, following reported progress in negotiations with Iran.

Iran signaled that reopening the strait could be negotiated in stages, with early discussions focused on maritime access before other issues.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it would guarantee “safe, stable passage” through the Strait of Hormuz after claiming US threats had been “neutralized.” The group added that ships transporting arms to US military forces could be denied passage under the updated guidelines.

Bitcoin rose from about $79,000 into the weekend to above $82,500 after the military pause announcement, with traders eyeing $83,000 as key resistance and further gains toward $90,000 to $100,000 if that level breaks, while market dominance climbed past 61% as capital concentrated in the largest token.

Elsewhere, renewed institutional appetite is flowing back into crypto funds, with US spot Bitcoin ETFs recording around $1 billion in net inflows so far this week, per Farside Investors. Wednesday alone brought in $467 million, with BlackRock’s IBIT and Fidelity’s FBTC emerging as the key drivers of demand across the sector.

Morgan Stanley brings crypto trading with lower fees than rivals

Morgan Stanley is expanding its digital assets push by rolling out crypto trading on its E*Trade platform, positioning the offering as a lower-cost option to established retail crypto services.

The bank is currently running a pilot that charges the E*Trade users a fee of 50 basis points on transaction value, according to Bloomberg. That's notably lower cost than other major players, including Coinbase, Robinhood and Charles Schwab, which charge 60 to 95 basis points.

Morgan Stanley’s Head of Wealth Management, Jed Finn, said the initiative goes beyond offering cheaper crypto trading and is aimed at “disintermediating the disintermediators,” framing it as a broader structural shift in how clients access digital assets.

The investment banking giant plans to roll the service out to all 8.6 million ETrade customers later this year.

The latest offering builds on a series of crypto-related moves in recent months, including the launch of a Bitcoin exchange-traded fund, with planned products tied to ether and solana. Morgan Stanley has also advanced efforts on the infrastructure side, applying for a national trust bank charter that would enable it to directly custody digital assets.

Sources told Bloomberg that the bank is also mulling services that enable conversation of crypto holdings into exchange-traded products without selling and is preparing for potential tokenized equity trading later this year.

These moves are set to amplify competition in a market where Coinbase generated $3.32 billion in consumer transaction revenue in 2025, while Robinhood reported nearly $1 billion in crypto-related revenue.

Bitcoin (BTC) may be entering uncharted territory as one widely-followed analyst points to the early stages of its first-ever supercycle, with price action already diverging from the patterns that defined previous market cycles and hinting at a structural shift that could reshape expectations for the leading crypto’s long-term trajectory.

Top analyst Plan C has sparked fresh debate in the market after suggesting that Bitcoin is on the verge of entering its first-ever supercycle. 

In a recent post on X, he projected that this extended bullish phase could drive the world’s oldest and largest crypto by market cap to an unprecedented $250,000, a level that would mark a historic milestone and signal a dramatic shift in its long-term market structure. 

The analyst marks the beginning of this cycle in November 2022, when Bitcoin bottomed out in the bear market near $16,000 amid severe market stress. That period was defined by widespread weakness across the crypto sector, intensified by the implosion of Sam Bankman-Fried’s FTX empire.

As market stress faded and sentiment gradually improved, Bitcoin staged a powerful recovery from its sub-$16,000 lows, eventually surging to a high of just above $126,000 in October 2025. Plan C characterized this move as the first significant peak of the ongoing cycle, suggesting it may represent an early landmark within a much larger supercycle structure unfolding in the market.
Following that rally, Bitcoin underwent a sharp correction toward the $60,000 region in February 2026, a move that Plan C identifies as a mid-cycle bottom. His outlook is broadly in line with Grayscale Investments, which also pointed to the February 6 lows as a “durable market bottom” of the current cycle.

The momentum is holding, but it is thinning at the edges. Crypto exchange-traded funds (ETFs) extended their inflow streak on Tuesday, April 21, led decisively by ether, while bitcoin’s gains narrowed to a marginal advance. Beneath the surface, the balance between inflows and outflows is becoming more fragile.

Ether ETFs once again set the tone, pulling in $43.36 million and extending their inflow streak to nine consecutive days. The demand was broad but not without resistance.

Blackrock’s ETHA led with $37 million, while its ETHB product added $15.46 million, reinforcing its steady rise as a preferred vehicle. Grayscale’s Ether Mini Trust contributed $3.93 million, and Bitwise’s ETHW added $1.99 million.

Outflows persisted in legacy funds. Grayscale’s ETHE shed $12.14 million, and Fidelity’s FETH saw $1.99 million exit. Even so, the inflows were strong enough to carry the segment firmly into positive territory. Trading volume reached $648.88 million, with net assets closing at $13.66 billion.ETFs extended their streak to six straight days of inflows, but only just. The group recorded a modest $11.84 million net inflow, reflecting a day of competing forces.

Blackrock’s IBIT remained the anchor, drawing $39.34 million. Grayscale’s Bitcoin Mini Trust added $17.26 million, and Morgan Stanley’s MSBT continued its steady climb with $10.80 million in inflows.

Momentum returned quietly, but it did not stay that way. By the end of the week, crypto ETFs had delivered one of their strongest collective performances in recent months, with capital flowing steadily back into the sector and conviction building across multiple assets.

Bitcoin spot ETFs led the charge, recording $996.38 million in net inflows and marking a third consecutive week of gains. The headline number, however, masked a volatile start. Monday opened with a sharp $291 million outflow, driven largely by heavy redemptions from Fidelity’s FBTC and Ark & 21Shares’ ARKB.
That weakness proved temporary. From Tuesday onward, flows turned decisively positive, culminating in a $663.91 million surge on Friday that pushed total net assets back above $100 billion. Blackrock’s IBIT dominated the week, attracting $906.1 million and acting as the primary engine of demand. Ark & 21Shares’ ARKB rebounded strongly to finish with $98.5 million in inflows, while Bitwise’s BITB added $54.1 million.Morgan Stanley’s MSBT emerged as a notable new force. The fund extended its inflow streak to eight consecutive days, accumulating $71.1 million for the week and $133 million since launch, with an average daily inflow of $16.6 million. Its competitive 14 basis point fee structure is already raising questions about how incumbents may respond.

Not all funds shared in the recovery. Fidelity’s FBTC recorded $103.8 million in net outflows,
