The latest report from Gate Research argues that leveraged products such as 5x long and inverse tokens are best used in tightly defined, short‑duration trades built around “right‑side” entries, volume‑driven momentum breakouts and strict stop‑loss rules.

Gate Research’s report, “Liquidity Evolution and Trading Strategies of Crypto Leveraged ETFs,” frames leveraged crypto ETFs as a second‑stage development after spot ETFs drew institutional capital and compressed realized volatility in assets like Bitcoin. The authors note that since 2024, Bitcoin’s annualized realized volatility center has declined and peak drawdowns have stayed under 50% compared with 70%‑80% in prior cycles, as ETF arbitrage capital acts as a “liquidity backstop” during stress.
As risk appetite shifted higher, Gate Research says traders moved from spot and conventional ETFs into leveraged structures to “seek greater return convexity,” with 5x tokens such as XRP5L, SOL5L, ETH5S, BTC5L and XRP5S dominating trading volume on the Gate platform in early 2026.

His core claim was blunt: Bitcoin’s governance culture, not just its cryptography, is now the problem.

In the livestream, titled “BIP 361: Welcome to ShitcoinLand, Bitcoin,” Hoskinson framed the proposal as an overdue admission from parts of the Bitcoin world that quantum risk is no longer theoretical. The Cardano founder pointed to language in the proposal stating that, as of March 1, 2026, more than 34% of all Bitcoin had revealed public keys on-chain, leaving those UTXOs vulnerable to theft by an attacker with a sufficiently powerful quantum computer. In his telling, that amounts to roughly 8 million BTC exposed to a future break in Bitcoin’s current signature assumptions.

A key element under consideration is a proposal that would see the U.S. unfreeze approximately $20 billion in Iranian assets in exchange for Iran giving up its stockpile of enriched uranium. The idea has been informally described by some officials as a “cash for uranium” arrangement, though it remains only one of several options on the table.
Earlier in the negotiations, the U.S. reportedly floated a figure of around $6 billion for humanitarian-related purposes, while Iran initially demanded as much as $27 billion. The current $20 billion figure is seen as a potential middle ground in ongoing discussions.
One U.S. official clarified that the proposal reflects the U.S. negotiating position, while another emphasized that the “cash for uranium” concept is still part of broader exploratory talks and not a finalized agreement.
On the nuclear issue itself, Washington is reportedly insisting that Iran transfer all enriched nuclear material to the United States. Tehran, however, has only agreed to a process of “domestic dilution” under international supervision.
A possible compromise under discussion would involve sending some highly enriched uranium to a third country (not necessarily the U.S.), while the remainder would be diluted inside Iran under monitored conditions.
Overall, the talks highlight both the complexity and the cautious progress of negotiations, with both sides still far apart but exploring potential pathways to reduce escalation and stabilize the situation.
