After more than two months of consolidation, Bitcoin is finally showing signs of a breakout.

Leading the charge is once again an old friend, Michael Saylor, who has deployed a new weapon: STRC.

A quick look at Saylor's recent Twitter feed reveals he's been creating content for STRC almost daily. Tropical resort pools, women holding cocktails-these low-quality, Al-generated promotional videos send a clear signal: the man who propelled MSTR to Nasdaq stardom is using the same marketing firepower on STRC.

Why is he doing this? Because STRC is currently almost the only tool Strategy can use to convert market funds into BTC buy orders. In the past three months, every large-scale BTC purchase announced by Strategy has been funded by STRC.

What is STRC?

STRC stands for Variable Rate Series A Perpetual Stretch Preferred Stock, a type of perpetual preferred stock issued by Strategy, which launched on Nasdaq last November.

Its operating mechanism is roughly as follows:

You spend approximately $100 to buy one share of STRC. Strategy pays monthly cash dividends at an annualized rate of 11.5%, or about 96 cents per share per month. It never matures, and Strategy doesn't need to repay the principal.

The stock price is anchored to around $100 par value by adjusting the monthly dividend yield: if it falls below $100, the dividend yield is increased to attract buying interest; if it rises above $100, the dividend yield is decreased, causing the price to fall back to par value. The maximum monthly adiustment to the dividend vield is 25 basis points.

Bitcoin is rallying as flagship conference approaches, data shows the gains rarely last


As bitcoin heads into this year’s flagship Bitcoin Conference in Las Vegas next week, traders will be watching for a familiar pattern, a potential “sell-the-news” event that has played out in previous years.

The largest cryptocurrency is trading around $75,000, recovering from a local bottom of around $60,000 in early February after collapsing more than 50% from its October all-time high.

Data from Galaxy Research and Investing.com spanning 2019 to 2025 show the price of bitcoin tends to rise in the run-up to these conferences, delivers a mixed performance during the event and declines substantially afterward.

For instance, bitcoin gained about 3% in the 24 hours before the 2024 event in Nashville (featuring then-presidential candidate Donald Trump) and roughly 10% ahead of the 2019 conference in San Francisco, suggesting positioning builds into peak attention. Price action during the conference is typically subdued as the narrative fails to deliver, and the weakest performance occurs in the days and weeks that follow.

In the 2022 bear market, often compared to the current 2026 bear market environment, bitcoin fell just 1% during the Miami conference before sliding nearly 30% over several weeks. Similar post-conference weakness was seen in 2019, 2021 and 2023, where any momentum failed to hold.

Even in 2024, when Nashville hosted Trump to outline plans to position the U.S. as a bitcoin superpower, gains during the event were short-lived and marked a local top, just ahead of the yen carry-trade unwind in August that pushed bitcoin as low as $49,000.

Conferences tend to coincide with peaks in attention and liquidity as bullish narratives build up to the event, creating conditions for investors to unwind positions.

Halfway through Q2, the market is already pricing in end-of-quarter targets. 

From a technical standpoint, Bitcoin’s [BTC] 10% move so far could just be the early leg of a setup similar to 2025, where Q2 closed with 30% gains. If we get a repeat of that structure, BTC could still be on track to finish Q2 somewhere in the $85k–$90k range. In that case, the $65k–$70k zone would likely stand out as a local bottom for this cycle. 

The key question now is whether on-chain signals support that range as a potential local bottom. At the macro level, BTC started the week by breaking below the $75k level as uncertainty around the Strait of Hormuz picks up again, adding pressure to the “bottom is in” narrative. Hackers impersonated eth.limo team to hijack its domain: Post-mortem


Ethereum Name Service gateway eth.limo has revealed that the domain hijacking on Friday was caused by a social engineering attack directed against EasyDNS, its domain name service provider.

According to a postmortem published by eth.limo on Saturday, an attacker impersonated one of its team members to initiate an account recovery process with easyDNS, granting access to the eth.limo account and allowing them to alter domain settings.

“The NS records were changed and directed to Cloudflare… Once we understood that a DNS hijack had taken place, we immediately notified the community as well as Vitalik Buterin and others. We then began contacting EasyDNS in an attempt to respond to the incident,” the company said.

Eth.limo serves as a Web2 bridge, providing access to around 2 million decentralized websites using the .eth domain name. Hijacking the service could allow an attacker to redirect users to malicious websites. Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin warned users Friday to avoid his blog until the incident was resolved.

Mark Jeftovic, CEO of easyDNS, has publicly accepted responsibility for the incident in its own postmortem report.

“We screwed up and we own it,” said Jeftovic on Saturday.

“This would mark the first successful social engineering attack against an easyDNS client in our 28-year history. There have been countless attempts.”

Both companies have pointed to the Domain Name System Security Extension (DNSSEC) in thwarting the hacker’s attempts to do further damage.

The attacker couldn’t produce valid cryptographic signatures, so Domain Name System resolvers rejected the attacker’s forged DNS responses, causing users to see error messages instead of being redirected to malicious sites.

Polymarket in talks to raise $400M at a $15B valuation: Report
Prediction market platform Polymarket is reportedly in talks with investors to raise another $400 million in fresh capital, The Information reported Monday.

The $400 million raise would be made at a $15 billion valuation, The Information said, citing two people familiar with the matter.

The raise would add to a wave of institutional capital flowing into the predictions market space in recent months. New York Stock Exchange parent Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) invested $600 million into Polymarket in late March, while competitor platform Kalshi’s valuation was marked at about $22 billion in its last funding round.

The Information said Polymarket is looking to add strategic investors beyond ICE in its next funding round, which could total $1 billion.

Prediction markets started booming around the time of the 2024 US election and are now consistently recording over $10 billion in monthly trading volume across markets covering everything from sports and political elections to financial results and cultural events.

With that rise has come surging institutional interest from some of Wall Street’s biggest players.

In early March, one of Nasdaq’s options exchanges, Nasdaq MRX, filed to offer cash-settled, binary-style contracts on the Nasdaq-100 index.

Cboe Global Markets is also launching a prediction market-style offering, while CME Group partnered with American gambling company FanDuel, which will enable traders to bet on markets outside of finance.

Last week, TradFi firms Charles Schwab and Citadel Securities said they are also weighing a move into prediction markets.
