The two biggest DeFi exploits of the past two months have one thing in common. They used a tool that does not exist on the $XRP Ledger.

Thorchain lost roughly $10.8 million on May 15 to a cross-chain attack that drained funds across Bitcoin, Ethereum, BSC, and Base. Drift Protocol, a Solana-based decentralized perpetual exchange, and KelpDAO, a liquid restaking protocol on Ethereum, together accounted for more than $600 million in losses through April alone.

Monero Climbs on $23M Buy

The rally traced back to a single wallet that pulled $29.3 million in USDC (USDC) from Coinbase, swapped portions into DAI (DAI), then funneled about $23 million into Monero through the Wagyu over-the-counter venue.

The funds hopped across several wallets over roughly a day.

On-chain analyst MLM flagged the sequence in a post, estimating the wave of buying lifted XMR nearly 15% within hours.

No public hack or theft has been confirmed as the source of the money, leaving the buyer's intent unclear. Talk of compromised wallets stays unverified, and the episode echoes earlier opaque purchases that briefly drove the coin higher.

Zcash and Monero Designs Diverge

Monero applies privacy to every transaction by default through its RingCT signatures and stealth addresses, while Zcash leans on optional zk-SNARK proofs that shield activity only when users turn the feature on.

Critics use that gap to question each Zcash rally whenever the sector reprices. The divergence has reopened a long-running debate over which coin offers the stronger product, with money drifting toward the asset that hides every move by design rather than by choice.

Cup and handle forms within a broader bull flag

The technical structure for $BEAT shows a combination of patterns hinting at a significant move in the coming days. The asset has formed a cup and handle pattern, characterized by price trending downward in a double-hollow fashion that resembles a cup and handle.

This formation has preceded a rally and breakout to the upside on multiple occasions. For the breakout to materialize, price would need to overcome the diagonal resistance lines that have formed on the chart to confirm an upward continuation.

Viewed on a broader scale, the cup and handle pattern appears to be forming within an overall bull flag—a structure that involves an expansive rally followed by a consolidation phase before another expansive move.

The cup and handle represents the consolidation phase within this larger pattern.

Notably, the Accumulation/Distribution indicator reflects a relative calm in buying pressure for now, moving along a measured range as the asset accumulates without yet sparking a major surge in buy pressure.

This type of quiet accumulation often precedes a more explosive directional move.
