The past week marked a notable divergence in corporate cryptocurrency acquisition strategies. While Strategy (MSTR) and Bitmine (BMNR) paused their respective Bitcoin and Ethereum purchases, four other publicly traded companies collectively added
612 Bitcoin to their treasuries, according to data from blockchain analytics firm Lookonchain.
A Week of Contrasting Corporate Strategies
Strategy, the largest corporate Bitcoin holder, made no additional BTC purchases over the last seven days, breaking a pattern of consistent weekly accumulation. Similarly, Bitmine halted its Ethereum acquisitions, signaling a potential shift in sentiment or capital allocation strategy for both firms.
In contrast, Strive, The Smart Web Company PLC, DDC Enterprise Limited, and Hyperscale Data collectively acquired 612 BTC, valued at approximately $47.5 million based on current market prices. This brings the total Bitcoin holdings of these four companies to 21,525 BTC, worth roughly $1.67 billion.
Who Is Buying and Why
The four firms represent a mix of asset managers, technology companies, and enterprise-focused businesses. Their continued accumulation suggests a long-term bullish outlook on Bitcoin as a treasury
reserve asset, even as some larger players temporarily step back.
Strive, an asset management firm co-founded by Vivek Ramaswamy, has been vocal about using Bitcoin as a hedge against inflation and currency debasement. Ethereum's 90-day structural profile remains positive (+15%), but the last 30 days have delivered a clean, undeniable pullback (-9.26%). Despite the booming restaking sector absorbing circulating supply, ETH is currently pinned near the bottom of its recent range.
The Structural Map ($2,110 to $2,370):
Immediate Support:
$2,110 to $2,150: ETH is resting perilously close to its recent 30-day low ($2,109.85).
This is the key short-term support region. A daily close that definitively breaks below $2,100 opens the door to test the critical psychological and macro support floor at $2,000.

The price of bitcoin has been closely tracking the 2026 realized price, currently around $76,200, according to Checkonchain, since the beginning of April.

The realized price is the average onchain acquisition cost of all bitcoin that last moved within a specific year. In other words, it reflects the aggregate cost basis of market participants from 2026, and some market participants see it as a more meaningful gauge than traditional psychological support or resistance price levels.

In February, when bitcoin plunged to nearly $60,000, the market found support close to the 2023 realized price, reinforcing the growing importance of these cohort cost-basis levels in shaping market structure.

This weekend, the largest cryptocurrency briefly dropped to $74,500 before rebounding from its 128-day moving average, another closely watched technical level.

At its current price, bitcoin is trading below two major onchain metrics clustered around $77,000: the true market mean and the short-term holder cost basis. Both levels are widely monitored as indicators of broader market sentiment and short-term positioning.

Attention is also turning toward the May 29 options expiry on Deribit, where roughly $6.6 billion in open interest is set to expire.

The largest concentration of call options, about $600 million, sits at the $80,000 strike price. The largest put positioning is concentrated at $75,000, with around $377 million in open interest. Market makers and traders are incentivized to keep price action pinned between these levels as expiry approaches, contributing to the current period of compressed volatility.
