Michael Saylor has said that Bitcoin sales before the end of 2026 are "not unlikely" as Strategy adjusts its capital structure.
The company currently holds 843,738 BTC worth more than $65 billion.
According to a post published by Strategy executive chairman Michael Saylor on X, the company bought bonds instead of Bitcoin this week, with Saylor stating that the
"BitVac is charging."

The comment came as investors watched for signs of another Bitcoin acquisition following recent weakness in both Bitcoin and MSTR stock.
Earlier disclosures from Strategy showed the company plans to repurchase nearly $1.5 billion in face value of its 0% convertible senior notes due 2029 for about $1.38 billion in cash. Company filings said the repurchase could be funded through existing cash reserves, proceeds from at-the-market stock sales, and potential Bitcoin sales
Just days before the latest announcement, Saylor said during an interview that it was
"not unlikely" that Strategy could sell some Bitcoin before the end of 2026. During the interview, Saylor said models relying only on equity, credit, or Bitcoin underperformed compared with a more flexible capital allocation approach

Critics say this creates an uneven playing field that unfairly targets cryptocurrency investors while protecting traditional stock traders. The government’s decision to scrap the stock tax was driven by concerns that it could cool down the stock market—a rationale that opponents say should apply equally to the crypto market.Oh Moon-seong, president of the Korean Tax Policy Association, has stated clearly that the two taxes must be discussed together for the sake of equity. He warned that implementing the crypto tax in isolation would inevitably provoke strong tax resistance from investors. Another tax expert, speaking on condition of anonymity, noted that with the virtual asset market currently in a poor condition, proceeding with the tax would likely lead to intense backlash. However, the market setup is not limited to PCE. This week includes U.S. consumer confidence data on Tuesday, followed on Thursday by Q1 2026 GDP and April new home sales figures. Due to Memorial Day, Monday is comparatively quiet. PCE serves as the primary catalyst for cryptocurrency traders. If inflation turns out to be higher than anticipated, markets might begin pricing in a more aggressive Federal Reserve position once more. As a result, speculative assets like Bitcoin and altcoins would probably be under pressure, and Treasury yields would probably rise.

In that case, after failing to maintain recent breakout momentum above $80,000, traders may witness Bitcoin retest support zones in the $75,000-$76,000 range. The chart already indicates hesitancy. Recently, Bitcoin lost the short-term ascending structure that sustained the recovery through April and May after rejecting resistance close to the 200-day moving average at $81,000.

Additionally, momentum indicators decreased significantly, with the RSI returning to neutral territory rather than maintaining a bullish trajectory. As a result, $BTC is susceptible to pressure from macro-driven sellers.
