Bitcoin Is Down 50% but Cryptoquant Says the Cycle Top Still Hasn't HappenedOnchain analytics firm Cryptoquant noted that its 365-day PnL Index Signal continues to trend lower, “suggesting the current $BTC cycle has yet to reach its peak.” In the firm’s framework, a depressed and falling reading marks the accumulation phase of a cycle rather than its terminal stage (historically the territory where bear markets bottom, not where bull markets die).CryptoQuant’s 365-day PnL Index Signal is still trending low, suggesting that the cycle has not reached its peak.
The PnL Index blends several of the most watched onchain gauges, including the market value to realized value (MVRV) ratio, net unrealized profit and loss, and the ratio of long-term to short-term holders. Cryptoquant tracks the index against its 365-day moving average, and the relationship between the two defines whether the firm’s cycle indicator reads bullish or bearish.In fact, the bull-bear cycle indicator flipped green on May 12, its first bullish signal since March 2023. Analysts cautioned at the time that the indicator produced a false positive in 2022, and that a green light alone does not guarantee a durable uptrend.The bullish interpretation faces an uncomfortable counterargument as bitcoin printed its record high around $126,000 in October 2025 and has since been cut in half, a drawdown that convinced some analysts the cycle top is already in and that the market is working through a conventional post-peak bear phase.

Cryptoquant’s signal implies the opposite, i.e. October’s high was not this cycle’s final word and that the structure resembles a market still building toward its peak. In other words, if the top is behind, rallies from here are exit liquidity; if it is ahead, the current zone is accumulation.

Ripple, alongside a range of other cryptocurrency-oriented firms, has joined the newly operational x402 Foundation as a premier member.

Hosted by the Linux Foundation, the organization is designed to oversee x402 – an open protocol contributed by Coinbase that embeds payments directly into standard web interactions.

The main purpose of the technology is to let AI-based agents, applications, and APIs send and receive money as easily as they exchange data.

The protocol could become increasingly important as AI agents move from making recommendations to actually purchasing services, accessing paid APIs, and completing transactions entirely on their own. Through open, vendor-neutral governance, the foundation aims to ensure that this emerging payment infrastructure supports various networks and payment methods without being controlled by a single company.

Speaking on the matter was Markus Infranger, senior vice president of RippleX, who said:

“Open standards like x402 help lay the foundation for trusted, interoperable machine-to-machine payments.”

XRP Boasts 3.13% Market Share: Could It Reach $50 in a $100T Crypto Market?
The $XRP community is discussing the token’s long-term value based on its current share of the cryptocurrency market.

$XRP currently accounts for 3.13% of the total crypto market, which stands at $2.15 trillion today. Meanwhile, $XRP commands only $66.74 billion of that market, with its price at $1.06.

This valuation makes $XRP the sixth-largest cryptocurrency, behind USDC, BNB, USDT, Ethereum, and Bitcoin.

Of all crypto assets, only Bitcoin has a trillion-dollar valuation. As for valuations above $100 billion, only Ethereum and Tether are in that range.

During the peak of the crypto bull market last year, however, the picture looked very different. Bitcoin’s market capitalization exceeded $2 trillion, Ethereum’s rose above $500 billion, and $XRP’s surpassed $210 billion. Today, all three have lost more than 50% of their value.

Regardless of the current market conditions, there is strong optimism that another bull market will emerge and crypto asset valuations will expand severalfold once again.
