What is Saga (SAGA)

1. Project Introduction
Saga is a Layer-1 protocol that allows developers to develop parallelized, VM-agnostic, and interoperable dedicated chains, or "Chainlets", that provide applications with infinite scalability. The Saga Protocol is a fully decentralized proof-of-stake chain. Each Chainlet has the same validator set and security model as the Saga Mainnet. In March 2024, Saga unveiled Saga Origins, a new game publishing arm devoted to bringing cutting-edge, quality games to market.

Jin Kwon, co-founder & CSO, is a former executive at Tendermint, responsible for organizational development and managing all business functions;
Jacob Mcdorman, co-founder & CTO, taught distributed systems at Purdue University and successfully exited the startup Cellaflora;
Funding: Incubated by Tendermint, it raised $5 million at a $40 million valuation; in May 2022, Saga raised $6.5 million at a $130 million valuation in a seed funding round led by Maven 11, Longhash Ventures, Hypersphere, Figment, Polygon Studios, Samsung NEXT, Chorus One, GSR, C2X, CRIT Ventures, Merit Circle, Hustle Fund, Unanimous Capital, Strangelove Ventures, Tess Ventures, nfr, Akash Network, and others; in November 2023, Saga announced a $5 million seed round at the same valuation led by Placeholder with contributions from Longhash Ventures, Com2uS, Dispersion Capital, Red Beard Ventures, Tykhe Ventures, and AVID3;
