1. Project Introduction
Acala is an Ethereum-compatible platform designed for financial applications, enabling the use of smart contracts or built-in protocols with seamless cross-chain functionality and robust security. The platform offers a suite of financial applications, including liquid staking derivatives (liquid DOT), a multi-collateral stablecoin (aUSD) backed by cross-chain assets, and an AMM DEX—all with micro gas fees payable in any token.
Summary: Acala is building a robust and sustainable liquidity layer for Web3 finance. It aims to provide infrastructure for HyFi (Hybrid Finance, a fusion of DeFi and CeFi) solutions, supporting both crypto and real-world assets. Acala serves as a universal asset hub, hosting multi-chain liquid staking token (LST) protocols (such as liquid DOT - LDOT), an AMM-based decentralized exchange, and a highly customizable, EVM-compatible application platform built on Substrate.

Ruitao Su, Co-founder – Headed the mobile division at Diary Company for two years starting in 2015. Founded the software company Less Coding Limited in 2009. In addition to co-founding Acala in 2019, he also co-founded the decentralized finance platform Laminar.
Bette Chen, Co-founder – Like Ruitao, she is also a co-founder and COO of Laminar. Additionally, she co-founded Flowso and participated in the Berkeley Blockchain Accelerator Cohort SP20 in 2020.
