Speaking at the World Liberty Forum, he described tokenization—converting physical asset ownership into digital tokens on a blockchain—as a "fantastic" innovation that represents the future of finance. It enables fractional ownership, improves liquidity, increases transparency, and allows smaller investors to participate. However, Sternlicht emphasized that regulatory uncertainty is the major obstacle preventing large firms from entering the market. Deloitte estimates that up to $4 trillion in real estate could be tokenized by 2035, signaling significant potential growth if clear regulations are established.

On July 28th, the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) urged 270 listed companies to consider conducting stock splits. This initiative aims to lower the high minimum investment cost, which was at least 500,000 yen (about $3,050) per lot of 100 shares as of late June, thereby making it easier for retail investors to participate. The TSE's call responds to investor demand for more affordable lots around 100,000 yen, as highlighted by the exchange in April. To further this goal, the TSE has established a working group focused on promoting small-lot investments, with meetings starting in October. Recent data shows progress: of the 276 companies that split their stocks in the 12 months to June 30, about 70% targeted post-split prices in the hundreds of thousands of yen. Before the splits, 45% of these companies had lots priced at 500,000 yen or more; after the splits, that figure dropped to just 2%. Overall, 762 companies have executed stock splits since the TSE's previous request in October 2022. Notable examples include Tokyo Electron and Organo, which plan significant splits effective October 1st.

Matt Hogan, Chief Investment Officer of crypto asset management firm Bitwise, stated that if the Clarity Act, aimed at establishing a regulatory framework for the crypto market in the U.S., is not passed this week, it could lead to a short-term downturn in the cryptocurrency market. In a memo, Hogan noted that the most positive market scenario if the bill fails would be investors quickly pricing in this outcome. He suggested that a significant drop in expectations for the bill's passage, particularly reflected in prediction markets like Polymarket, could help reduce regulatory uncertainty. Hogan explained that if the act fails, a sharp decline in prediction market odds to at least 10% would remove this uncertainty. While the market might wobble briefly, it would set up a better position for an upward trend in the fall. Hogan views immediate passage this week as the best scenario but unlikely, with Senate hearings more probable in September. The key, he emphasized, is for investors to accept that the Clarity Act won't pass in the short term, allowing the market to price this in, find a bottom, and eliminate the uncertainty.

Winklevoss Capital, through its Winklevoss Treasury Investments, has acquired a warrant for approximately 43.3 million shares of Cypherpunk Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: CYPH) as part of a deal where Cypherpunk purchased a new Zcash mining venture. The transaction, valued at $33.33 million, dilutes existing shareholders and grants the Winklevoss brothers a significant stake in Zcash investments. Cypherpunk Mining, operating Z15 Pro machines with an estimated 18% of the Zcash network's Equihash hashrate, is positioned as the world's largest dedicated Zcash mining fleet, hosted at debt-free, low-cost U.S. facilities.
