A more optimistic statement has come from the White House regarding the Clarity Act, which is being closely watched by the cryptocurrency market in the United States. Patrick Witt, Executive Director of the White House Advisory Council on Digital Assets, positively assessed the progress of the legislative process, stating that progress has been made in resolving fundamental disagreements on the bill.
Witt said progress has been made on all the different contentious points concerning the CLARITY Act and commented on the bill's future, saying, 'I am feeling quite optimistic.' This statement comes amid growing concern in Washington that the bill could face difficulties during a crucial Senate vote.
Earlier, Witt stated that only a few key contentious points remained before the CLARITY Act could be passed. These points mainly concerned ethical standards and rules related to stablecoin rewards and yield-bearing products. Negotiations between the parties on these issues are reportedly ongoing.
Recently, ethical standards have become one of the most significant political obstacles to the bill's passage. Democrats are demanding stricter ethical restrictions on the activities of President Donald Trump and his family in the cryptocurrency sector, and discussions between the White House and Congress are primarily focused on this issue.
Reward models and refund mechanisms proposed for stablecoin holders are also a key point of contention between the banking sector and cryptocurrency companies. The parties are reportedly striving to reach an agreement on rules concerning the conditions under which these products can be offered under the Clarity Act.
A crucial procedural vote on the 'Clarity Act' bill is expected to take place in the U.S. Senate on September 15th. Passing this stage is critical for the bill's further advancement in the legislative process.
