Interview with Kongkou (KK), UXLINK Ecosystem Lead: "Not a Prisoner, Just a Player – Staying in Web3 Because It’s Fun" KK, UXLINK’s Ecosystem Lead, shares his unconventional journey into Web3. With a background in economics and experience spanning Swedish manufacturing supply chains, Hasselblad (under DJI), and community growth in Web3, he emphasizes adaptability over formal credentials. He entered Web3 in 2021, learning through hands-on experience—earning and losing in NFTs, participating in early Solana trading, and navigating GameFi downturns. He believes real learning comes from taking risks and experiencing losses firsthand. At UXLINK, KK drove significant growth through well-timed, mechanism-focused campaigns like joint airdrops, leveraging Telegram’s invite-based reward system. He stresses that timing and structure matter more than creativity in driving user adoption. KK also reflects on a major security breach UXLINK suffered—a costly lesson highlighting that security is a discipline issue, not just a technical one. He advises strict measures like physical isolation, avoiding cloud-stored seed phrases, and using dedicated devices for financial operations. Despite challenges, he remains in Web3 for the positive team environment and personal enjoyment. He embraces AI tools for work and life, balances stress with sports like climbing and squash, and advises newcomers to network actively and keep learning. Beyond Web3, KK is a craft beer enthusiast, recommending Jap...

In this episode of "The Society President's Parlor," I invited Kongkou (KK), the Ecosystem Lead at UXLINK.

He is not a technical expert, nor does he have a traditional finance background. With a degree in economics, he transitioned from supply chain management in Swedish manufacturing to DJI Hasselblad, and eventually to Web3 community growth. He has participated in activities driving millions of user growth, experienced the peak of projects with multi-billion dollar market caps, and also weathered the darkest moments of project hacks and token price collapses. This in itself reflects a resilience of 'not being a prisoner'—amidst narratives of sudden wealth and crashes, he hasn't been 'formatted' by the industry but has instead lived as a free-spirited player.

Adaptability Matters More Than Resume: From Nordic Church Schools to DJI Hasselblad

The name "Kongkou" originated from a glitch in QQ screen names during the flip phone era, which was later simplified to KK.

In 2009, Kongkou moved to Sweden due to his family's work. To quickly integrate into school and local life, he proactively chose to attend a church school, becoming the only immigrant student in his grade.

His career spans are equally broad: during his integrated bachelor's and master's studies, he worked on supply chain and factory setup for a Swedish e-bike brand; later, he joined Hasselblad after its acquisition by DJI but went through a period of frustration involving "counting screws, packing, and inventory." When job hunting in China in 2021, he received offers from major companies like Lenovo but ultimately declined, as he gradually realized that what he truly wanted to do was internet-related work.

This ability to quickly adapt in unfamiliar environments and self-learn from scratch became a foundational trait that later helped him enter Web3.

The Starting Point in Web3: Lose Money First, Then Understand Risk

In 2021, Kongkou officially entered the Web3 industry. At the time, he joined a company whose founder had grand "metaverse dreams," forcing him to rapidly learn about blockchain and grow through practice.

From product operations to strategy teams, he experienced the "death spiral" of GameFi, participated in early Solana trading, and mingled in NFT community Alpha groups. He made his first bucket of money in NFTs and also lost money; later, he co-founded projects and made investments with friends, also stepping into "scam" pitfalls.

He advises, "It's best to try it yourself. Losing real money on-chain is more useful than attending ten sharing sessions."

It was through long-term activity in various communities and groups that he also met the founding team of his current project—UXLINK.

The Essence of Growth: It's About 'Mechanism,' Not 'Creativity'

UXLINK 带来最大曝光和增长的两场大型联合空投活动,都是由他主导完成。

But Kongkou also admits that timing is always more important than method. Because joint airdrops are not novel; the real crux is the mechanism. UXLINK's fission mechanism is based on the Telegram invitation system—inviters only receive rewards after the invitee completes all tasks. This turns "pulling people in" into "supervising completion," resulting in a much higher quality of fission than ordinary task platforms.

At that time, Twitter had not yet been renamed X, nor had it been acquired by Elon Musk, and was relatively more "friendly" towards such growth activities.

"The first event had the best results, the second one already showed a significant decline because Elon Musk changed Twitter's API."

For him, the team never sets KPIs, and growth is not about self-imposed limits to meet KPIs, but rather a large-scale social experiment. He doesn't a prisoner of metrics, but enjoys the thrill of solving problems within the mechanism.

A Multi-Million Dollar Security Lesson: Security Is a Discipline Issue, Not a Technical One

The darkest moment Kongkou experienced at UXLINK dates back to the industry-shocking hack in Q3 of last year.

On the eve of KBW's opening, he and the team were making final preparations for the exhibition and events. In the early hours of the morning, the hacker launched the attack. That night, almost no one on the team slept; they worked through the night contacting exchanges,对接 security companies (like SlowMist and Exvul), and continuously updating the community and media on the incident's progress.

However, the reason for this hack was unbelievably basic.

The hacker first入侵了一位联创的电脑, then used phishing links and伪装 meeting links to implant malware, gradually obtaining multi-signature permissions, and finally executed the attack, followed by dumping and a sharp price drop.

This was a security lesson costing tens of millions of dollars. But for a true player, 'being able to afford to lose' is the entry ticket, and 'how to elegantly restart the game' is the real discipline.

In our conversation, Kongkou repeatedly reminded everyone to prioritize security, including but not limited to:

  • Implement physical isolation

  • Never store seed phrases on the cloud or Google Docs

  • Fund operations must use dedicated devices

  • Cold wallets are the bottom line

  • Security is not a technical problem, it's a discipline problem.

However, the project is still progressing. The team is also simultaneously advancing a new AI product—XerpaAI, which is currently nearing its public testing phase.

Long-Termism: Be an Optimist Who 'Embraces AI'

In the highly fluid Web3 industry, Kongkou's reason for staying is actually very simple: the team atmosphere is good, and it's fun to work here.

He doesn't have a strong obsession with wealth; his goal for himself is simply—"to live healthily and happily."

He is also trying to gradually "AI-ify" his life.

At work: The team has no full-time designer; all posters are created using AI tools like Nano Banana. In life: Buying health supplements for his father, planning overseas travel, checking drug brands—he consults AI first for these as well.

Outside of high-pressure work, he balances his life with rock climbing, squash, and playing ball sports.

"When your mindset is off, days become harder."

He also advises newcomers who want to enter Web3: Go the extra mile, proactively expand your network, communicate more, and learn more.

Easter Egg: Craft Beer Buying Guide

On Kongkou's Xiaohongshu (Little Red Book) profile, there's also a very attractive tag—craft beer enthusiast.

Since 2021, he has been trying various craft beers in different countries and regions around the world, accumulating considerable experience.

Although he always emphasizes: The most important thing about drinking beer is to find the type you like, at my "strong request," he still provided a practical guide.

Beginner-friendly: Drink Lager-style (light beer) freely; Japanese Lagers (Sapporo, Kirin, Asahi) are very consistent.

Intermediate: If you like Guinness, you can try Stouts or Porters; you can also try Rice Lagers, even interesting varieties with sake yeast.

IPA: The fresher the better, Draft is usually superior to canned.

Shanghai Bar Recommendation: 233 Bar — An extremely large number of taps, called by him "one of the best value-for-money craft beer bars in all of China."

Final Thoughts

The conversation with Kongkou showed me a very special kind of松弛感 (relaxed ease), an自在心态 (comfortable mindset) that "allows everything to happen."

Even when discussing areas he excels in, he wasn't急于 to give opinions or advice, hoping more that everyone would walk their own path, with others' "experiences" serving at most as references. Many people entering this circle eventually have their youthful spirit worn away by token prices, KPIs, and endless anxiety, but Kongkou is different; he似乎总有那种化腐朽为神奇的力量 (seems to always have that power to turn decay into magic).

And this drive of "not being played to death by the industry" is what makes a true top player.

Just as he says, he stays here for no other reason than because "it's fun to work here."

Living long is the real win.

QWhat is Kongkou (KK)'s role at UXLINK and what key philosophy does he embody in the Web3 space?

AKongkou (KK) is the Ecosystem Lead at UXLINK. He embodies the philosophy of 'not being a prisoner' but a player in Web3, focusing on enjoying the work and maintaining a relaxed, adaptive mindset rather than being driven solely by profit or external pressures.

QHow did Kongkou's early experiences, like studying in Sweden and working at Hasselblad (under DJI), shape his approach to Web3?

AHis experiences, such as adapting to a new culture in a Swedish church school and working in supply chain and operations at Hasselblad, developed his ability to quickly learn and adapt in unfamiliar environments. This self-learning and adaptability became foundational traits for his success in Web3.

QWhat does Kongkou believe is the most effective way for newcomers to understand risk in Web3?

AHe believes that newcomers should personally experience risk by actually losing some money on-chain, as this practical lesson is more effective than attending ten sharing sessions or listening to advice.

QWhat was the key mechanism behind UXLINK's successful growth campaigns, and why was timing crucial?

AThe key mechanism was a Telegram invitation system where inviters only received rewards if the invited users completed all tasks, ensuring high-quality growth. Timing was crucial because the campaigns were launched when Twitter (before its acquisition by Elon Musk) was more friendly to such activities, and API changes later reduced their impact.

QWhat major security lesson did Kongkou learn from the hacking incident at UXLINK, and what practices does he recommend?

AHe learned that security is a discipline issue, not just a technical one. He recommends physical isolation, never storing seed phrases in the cloud or Google Docs, using dedicated devices for fund operations, and always using cold wallets as a baseline security measure.

iQiyi Is Too Impatient

The article "iQiyi Is Too Impatient" discusses the controversy surrounding the Chinese streaming platform IQiyi's recent announcement of an "AI Actor Library" during its 2026 World Conference. IQiyi claimed over 100 actors, including well-known names like Zhang Ruoyun and Yu Hewei, had joined the initiative. CEO Gong Yu suggested AI could enable actors to "star in 14 dramas a year instead of 4" and that "live-action filming might become a world cultural heritage." The announcement quickly sparked backlash. Multiple actors named in the list issued urgent statements denying they had signed any AI-related authorization agreements. This forced IQiyi to clarify that inclusion in the library only indicated a willingness to *consider* AI projects, with separate negotiations required for any specific role. The incident, which trended on social media with hashtags like "IQiyi is crazy," is presented as a sign of the company's growing desperation. Facing intense competition from short-video platforms like Douyin and Kuaishou, as well as Bilibili and Xiaohongshu, IQiyi's financial performance has weakened, with revenues declining for two consecutive years. The author argues that IQiyi is "too impatient" to tell a compelling AI story to reassure the market, especially as it pursues a listing on the Hong Kong stock exchange. The piece concludes by outlining three key "AI questions" IQiyi must answer: defining its role as a tool provider versus a content creator, balancing the "coldness" of AI with the human element audiences desire, and properly managing the interests of platforms, actors, and viewers. The core dilemma is that while AI can reduce costs and increase efficiency, it risks creating homogenized, formulaic content and devaluing human performers.
