Resumo

AEREDIUM Holdings has received a U.S. patent (No. 12,694,407 B1) for a real-time AI system designed to continuously audit the reserves of stablecoins and other digital assets. Invented by founder and CEO Albert Dadon, the system aims to replace traditional periodic audits from accounting firms with automated oversight. The patented architecture uses four independent AI models for monitoring. A consensus from at least three models is required for a decision, which can be overridden by a compliance mechanism. The system issues status levels from "PASS" to "HALT." A "HALT" status automatically instructs connected smart contracts to reject pending token transactions, preventing trading if reserves fall out of compliance. Audit results are recorded on-chain within minutes and cross-referenced to a second blockchain, creating an immutable public ledger. Dadon stated the system makes trust an inherent property of the asset, with verification "traveling with the token." He emphasized the patent provides broad legal protection for this specific use case. While the AI ensemble is not intended to replace legally required audits or issuer liability, Dadon expects regulatory expectations to shift toward mandatory real-time verification as adoption grows. AEREDIUM is preparing international patent filings and is in talks with U.S. regulators.

AEREDIUM Holdings recently obtained a US patent for an artificial intelligence (AI) system designed for the continuous real-time auditing of digital asset reserves, aiming to replace traditional accounting attestations with automated oversight. On July 29, the United States Patent and Trademark Office issued Patent No. 12,694,407 B1. The system was invented by Albert Dadoun, the founder and CEO of AEREDIUM.

Issuers of stablecoins and other reserve-backed digital assets currently rely on monthly or quarterly attestations prepared by audit firms. The publication of such reports often takes weeks, while reserve balances continuously fluctuate, leading to delays that have played a significant role in major digital asset market disruptions.

According to a press statement, AEREDIUM's patented system replaces periodic reports with continuous monitoring using four independent artificial intelligence models. Within this architecture, no single model can determine the outcome on its own. A consensus of at least three out of the four models is required to reach a verdict, with a compliance control mechanism having the authority to reassess their decision.

The system issues status levels ranging from 'PASS' to 'HALT'. Upon issuing a 'HALT' status, the system automatically instructs connected smart contracts to reject pending token transactions, preventing continued trading when reserves are non-compliant. Audit results are recorded on the primary blockchain network within minutes and are cross-referenced to a second independent blockchain network, creating an immutable public ledger.

"Trust in this industry has always been retrospective — you found out whether reserves existed only after it already mattered," Dadoun said. "This patent makes trust an intrinsic property of the asset itself. Verification accompanies the token."

Dadoun noted that the patent was granted without any narrowing of the original claims during USPTO examination, providing the company with broad legal protection across various operational cycles and time intervals.

"The machine learning components in an abstract sense belong to everyone, but when applied to this specific use case — autonomous auditing of digital asset reserves — they are protected," Dadoun said. "A competing issuer or audit firm applying these models to stablecoin reserves would be operating within the issued claims, regardless of where those components were sourced."

He added that AEREDIUM is actively preparing to file international patent applications.

Addressing potential operational hurdles, such as delays in custodian bank API operations, Dadoun explained that the architecture is designed with slower off-chain data flows in mind. The cycle uses the latest available data from each source, treating stale or divergent data streams as risk signals rather than system failures.

Dadoun also clarified that the AI ensemble is not intended to replace legally mandated financial audits or to reduce issuer liability.

"The legal liability for stablecoin reserves lies with the issuer, and whatever audit the regulator prescribes, the issuer is obligated to perform it," Dadoun told Bitcoin.com News, characterizing continuous verification and traditional audits as complementary processes.

However, Dadoun indicated that regulatory expectations may evolve with the adoption of real-time verification tools, noting that AEREDIUM is currently in discussions with US regulators.

"We expect regulators to move from simply acknowledging continuous verification to mandating it," Dadoun said. "In the US, the reserve requirements for payment stablecoins are enshrined in law, and continuous verification against those legally established standards is precisely what this architecture was built to do."

QWhat is the main purpose of the AI system patented by AEREDIUM Holdings?

AThe main purpose of the AI system patented by AEREDIUM Holdings is to provide continuous, real-time auditing of digital asset reserves, replacing traditional periodic attestations with automated oversight to ensure the assets are fully backed.

QAccording to the article, what is a key operational advantage of AEREDIUM's AI auditing system over traditional methods?

AA key operational advantage is that it provides real-time monitoring and near-instantaneous public recording of audit results on a blockchain, eliminating the weeks-long delays associated with traditional monthly or quarterly attestation reports from auditing firms.

QHow does AEREDIUM's AI system reach a consensus for its audit verdicts?

AThe system uses four independent AI models. A verdict requires a consensus of at least three out of the four models. Furthermore, a compliance oversight mechanism has the authority to reevaluate their decision.

QWhat automatic action does the system take when it issues a 'HALT' status?

AWhen the system issues a 'HALT' status, it automatically instructs connected smart contracts to reject pending token transactions, preventing continued trading when a reserve shortfall is detected.

QHow does Albert Dadon, the CEO, characterize the relationship between the new AI verification system and traditional legal audits?

AAlbert Dadon characterizes them as complementary processes. He clarifies that the AI system is not intended to replace legally mandated accounting audits or reduce the issuer's liability, which remains with the stablecoin issuer regardless of the tools used.

Bitwise: Cryptocurrency Market Will Grow Even If the CLARITY Act Fails

Matt Hogan, CIO of Bitwise, provided a detailed commentary on the CLARITY Act, a U.S. cryptocurrency regulation bill. He notes that according to Senate rules, a cloture motion was needed by August 5th for the bill to have a chance of a vote before the summer recess. The common view is that if Congress doesn't vote before the recess, the bill is effectively dead as legislators shift focus to the November elections. However, Hogan believes a failure this week doesn't mean the end of the CLARITY Act; instead, it would enter a state of limbo, with potential discussion resuming in September or December. The current uncertainty is already keeping some professional investors on the sidelines, wary of a potential market crash if the bill fails. He suggests the best market outcome would be the Act's passage, potentially launching a new crypto bull market. Yet, Hogan argues the crypto industry will advance regardless. SEC Chairman Paul Atkins recently stated the SEC is prepared to develop rules addressing the same issues as the CLARITY Act. Hogan thinks such SEC rules could even be more favorable to crypto and innovation in the short term, though a future administration could appoint a less friendly SEC chair to reverse them. Ultimately, Hogan is confident that no SEC chair can halt the industry's progress, citing major developments like BlackRock's profitable Bitcoin ETF, moves by Nasdaq and JPMorgan toward asset tokenization, and partnerships between Visa, Mastercard, Stripe, and Coinbase. He draws a parallel to the 1994 telecommunications reform that died in the Senate, while the internet (Netscape, Amazon, eBay) launched anyway, with Congress catching up two years later without significantly slowing progress. Hogan concludes that cryptocurrency already has sufficient momentum to transform finance for decades, irrespective of the immediate legislative outcome.
