Уже после сделки с World Liberty стало известно, что в мае Alt5 Sigma была признана виновной в отмывании денег в Руанде, а один из ее руководителей, Андре Бошен, приговорен к тюремному заключению. По делу была подана апелляция, в которой утверждается, что ответчики стали жертвами мошенничества.

В октябре Alt5 Sigma отстранила от должности генерального директора Питера Тассиопулоса, который занимал этот пост около года. Причина ухода Тассиопулоса не сообщалась.
