Сотрудники «Иркутской электросетевой компании» и полиции обнаружили майнинговую ферму в кустах на пустыре в Иркутске. 21 устройство было подключено к электролинии в 20 метрах от улицы Рабочего Штаба.

Согласно предварительным оценкам, прибыль от незаконного майнинга на ферме составляла 250 000 рублей ежемесячно. При этом ущерб от бездоговорного потребления электроэнергии составил не менее 1 млн рублей.

С 1 января российское правительство ввело полный запрет на майнинг в нескольких регионах страны. Заниматься добычей цифровых активов в большинстве других регионов России можно только под контролем государства.

Майнить имеют право юридические лица и индивидуальные предприниматели, зарегистрированные в специальном реестре Федеральной налоговой службы (ФНС), а также физлица в пределах лимита 6000 кВт⋅ч в месяц. С 30 июля российские власти утвердили правила передачи сведений о майнерах в ФНС операторами дата-центров.

Ранее прокуратура Красноярского края в России объявила, что остановила работу крупного майнинг-отеля: оборудование было размещено в нескольких арендованных помещениях и за их пределами, что вызвало перебои электроснабжения у соседней поликлиники.
