U.S. House Committee Urges Powell To Help Probe Silicon Valley Bank Collapse

The U.S. House of Representatives Oversight Committee has asked Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell to help investigate the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank, saying Fed officials refused to provide some records. Committee Chairman James Comer said in a letter to Powell on Monday that the committee has received no response to requests it has sent since late April, although Fed staff have provided some non-public and classified supervisory information.
