Bitcoin ETF inflows reached almost $1 billion across seven consecutive trading sessions through July 22, marking the longest positive run since October 2025. One day later, BlackRock, Fidelity Digital Assets and seven other firms launched a separate initiative backed by $15 million in member pledges for Bitcoin security research and open-source development.

The timing creates a broader institutional story, although the two signals require different interpretations. ETF flows measure investor demand over days. Security funding addresses technical risks that may take years to resolve.

Solana(SOL) developers have proposed replacing part of the network’s flat transaction charge with a resource-based fee designed to price heavier activity and increase token burning.

Solana’s current 5,000-lamport signature fee remains split equally between burning and validator rewards.

Draft SIMD-0553 would introduce a 2,500-lamport inclusion fee for validators and a separate resource fee that is fully burned.

The proposed model could reduce costs for light transactions while sharply increasing fees for resource-heavy activity.

Solana currently charges a base fee of 5,000 lamports per signature, with half burned and half paid to the block-producing validator. Priority fees are separate, and validators receive all of them under SIMD-0096.

The firm tracked 113 coins since their token generation event (TGE) price, with only 8 of them now above that price, a median return of -95.7%.

The sample is limited to projects with a market capitalization above $100 million as of July 21, CryptoRank told CryptoPotato.

Eight coins included in the survey are in profit, led by $HYPE, $ONDO, EVA, and $NIGHT.

Hyperliquid’s $HYPE was up 1,519% from its launch price at the time of the survey’s publication on July 21st. Ondo Finance’s $ONDO followed at 101.4%, with EverValue Coin (EVA) and Midnight Network ($NIGHT) up a more modest 20.3% and 16.5% respectively.

These figures are revealing, as we can see that even among those that are up, only a small handful showed outsized performance, with six of the eight achieving double-digit increases at best. It’s worth noting that $HYPE was also listed in the new S&P Pantera Digital Asset Index, which excluded many high-performing crypto assets, including Bitcoin.

The tokens studied spanned a wide range of niches in the crypto industry, including DeFi, gaming, and various infrastructure projects. The chart showed Strategy holding 843,775 BTC acquired through 113 purchases. The holdings were valued at approximately $54.36 billion, with an average acquisition price of $75,653 per bitcoin. The chart estimated an unrealized decline of about $9.47 billionSaylor frequently posts versions of the chart before Strategy releases treasury updates, prompting investors to treat them as possible signals of another purchase. The posts do not confirm an acquisition, and the latest came after Strategy disclosed selling $263.5 million of stock without adding BTC.During the July 13-19 reporting period, Strategy sold 2,732,318 MSTR shares for $263.5 million in net proceeds but did not purchase bitcoin. The proceeds increased Strategy’s U.S. dollar reserve to $3.225 billion, illustrating that the company does not automatically deploy newly raised capital into BTC and may instead strengthen its cash position.

The company still has authorization to sell up to $23.53 billion of additional common stock under its existing at-the-market offerings, according to a July 20 regulatory filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission
