Bitcoin Exchange Coinbase Announces New Listing! Here Are the Details

US-based cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase is preparing to add a new digital asset to its platform. According to a statement from Coinbase Markets, the exchange’s trading arm, the cryptocurrency called Perle (PRL) will be listed on the spot market starting March 25th.

The announcement emphasized that the launch of PRL token trading would depend on liquidity conditions. Accordingly, if sufficient market depth and trading volume are achieved, the PRL-USD trading pair is planned to be activated later that same day.

Bitcoin was the world’s first cryptocurrency and continues to be the most prominent digital coin on the market. Its market cap is about $1.33 trillion, placing it well ahead of the next-largest cryptocurrency, Ethereum, which has a market cap of roughly $233 billion.

In simple terms, Bitcoin is a decentralized form of digital money. Instead of relying on a government, bank, or central institution, it operates over a peer-to-peer network. That structure allows users to send value directly to one another, without an intermediary.

Many people are attracted to Bitcoin as a potential way to protect against inflation in the U.S. dollar or as a way to diversify their investments. Over the past decade, its gains have been striking, often beating the returns of major stock indices, which has made it a particularly compelling asset for some investors.

On the flip side, Bitcoin (like other cryptocurrencies) is subject to intense volatility and sudden price moves.

Since Bitcoin came on the scene in 2009, its history has been dramatic. In the early years, developer and early advocate Laszlo Hanyecz made history by paying 10,000 Bitcoins for pizza; today, that same amount of Bitcoin would be valued at over $668 million.

Across roughly the last decade or so, Bitcoin’s value has climbed more than 15,000%. That remarkable run has come with plenty of turbulence, as digital currencies are notoriously unpredictable. There have been periods where Bitcoin lost tens of thousands of dollars within a few months, as well as stretches where it surged just as aggressively. By the end of 2025, its price was about 30% below the record high it hit just a few months earlier.

Solana is grinding higher, but nobody should call it safe. The token is still buried more than 76% below its 2025 peak.

Even so, the past few weeks dragged out higher highs, higher lows, and a move back above $90. However, this rebound needed conviction.

War headlines still hung over the market, but growing ceasefire hopes in the U.S.-Israel-Iran conflict gave risk assets some breathing room.

SOL hunts for short liquidity after a long wipeout

Solana cleared long liquidity, then started leaning toward shorts. On the 24-hour and 48-hour liquidation heatmaps, heavy topside liquidity sat between $94 and $96. If the price kept rising, shorts could have been forced out fast.

That was the attraction. Short squeezes turned violent because trapped traders became fuel. As a result, SOL did not need hype. It only needed strength to keep pushing and punish the late bears.

Can Solana reclaim $117 and keep rising?

At the time of writing, Solana [SOL] traded near $91.64 inside a rising structure. The chart pointed toward the broader $117-$145 range, but $117 stayed the reclaim. Clear that level, and Solana would have looked stronger than during the sideways mess.

However, failure to reclaim even $100 will signal weakness. Therefore, the bulls still have work to do. If momentum fades, the door back toward $67.60 will open again. That threat stays alive.

Are bulls leaving, and is it a warning sign?

Open Interest made the setup shakier. Why? Ceasefire hopes in the U.S.-Israel conflict with Iran briefly lifted sentiment, pushing OI to $5.92B. However, that strength faded fast, with OI dropping to $4.85B before recovering near $5.1B.

Bitcoin $BTC$71,452.75 rose 1.2% after midnight UTC, mirroring gains in U.S. equities, with Nasdaq 100 futures up by 1% over the same period.

The advances follow oil's retreat below $100 per barrel on Tuesday after U.S. President Donald Trump proposed a "15 point plan" to end the war in Iran, although Iranian officials dismissed Trump's statement as fake news.

The crypto market remains resilient to the conflict with consistent outperformance of traditional haven assets gold and silver since early February.

Bitcoin has forayed above $72,000 twice this month, each time followed by a selloff that sent prices to between $67,000 and $65,000.

Traders are opening short positions in this region, resulting in a disproportionate increase in open interest.

Portions of the altcoin market are outperforming bitcoin, with decentralized finance (DeFi) tokens LDO and ETHFI rising by between 2.5% and 3.5% since midnight.

Derivatives positioning

Industry-wide crypto futures open interest (OI) rose to a one-week high of $112 billion.

The top 10 tokens, including $BTC and $ETH, all registered increases of 4% or more in futures open interest in the past 24 hours.

Ether OI jumped to 14.55 million $ETH, the most since Aug. 24. This, coupled with positive funding rates and cumulative volume delta, point to growing demand for bullish bets or longs.

DOGE and $ZEC are other standout tokens with OI increases of over 10% in 24 hours.

Bitcoin's 30-day implied volatility index, BVIV, dropped for a third straight day, nearing the weekly low of 53% to indicate a fading geopolitical risk premium. Ether's volatility is declining, too.

On Deribit, $BTC and $ETH put skews continue to weaken, although overall pricing still shows downside concerns across all tenors.
