LayerZero, Centrifuge Team Up to Expand Multichain Access for Tokenized Funds
LayerZero and Centrifuge are partnering to integrate Centrifuge's institutional tokenization infrastructure into the interoperability protocol’s ecosystem, according to a press release shared exclusively with The Defiant. The companies said that the deal aims to make access and distribution of tokenized real world asset (RWA) products broader with multichain reach from launch.

The partnership addresses the issue of blockchain fragmentation for institutional tokenization. Via LayerZero's OApp standard, issuers can extend products across over 165 blockchain networks, while retaining a unified supply, according to the release.

The first Centrifuge products to adopt LayerZero includes three of its tokenized funds, JTRSY — its largest by total value, with nearly $861 million in tokenized U.S. Treasuries — as well as JAAA, and SPXA, which launched in September as the first licensed tokenized S&P 500 index fund.

The three tokenized funds will expand across Ethereum, Solana, Avalanche, BNB Chain, Base, Optimism, and HyperEVM, per the release. Data from RWAxyz shows that JTRSY is currently mostly on Ethereum, while SPXA is exclusively on Coinbase’s Base.

The partnership also sets the stage for Centrifuge assets to be deployed on Zero, LayerZero's recently launched Layer 1 blockchain, backed by Citadel Securities, The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation, Intercontinental Exchange, and Google Cloud, and designed as core infrastructure for financial markets.

Before this drop, Bitcoin ETFs had their longest inflow streak in five months. From the 9th to the 17th of March, about $1 billion flowed into ETFs, showing that institutional interest was quietly returning.

This also happened as Bitcoin [BTC] moved back above $74,000, adding to the positive momentum.

What’s happening with Bitcoin ETFs?

So, what really matters here is the shift in trend. The heavy selling phase that started in October 2025 is beginning to weaken. Remarking on the same, an X user observed,

Additionally, the data from Farside Investors shows that the recent ETF inflows were not coming from the whole market but from BlackRock. Between the 9th and the 17th of March, BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) was doing most of the heavy lifting.

On the 10th of March, it brought in $185.8 million, which was about 75% of all ETF inflows that day. A day later, BlackRock added $115.3 million, more than the total net inflow across all ETFs.

Then, from the 13th of March to the 17th of March, the momentum stayed strong, ending with two solid days of nearly $200 million in inflows.

But everything changed on the 18th of March.

The flip in sentiment

The market suddenly flipped to $129.6 million in outflows. The biggest signal? BlackRock itself recorded $33.8 million in outflows.

At the same time, market sentiment dropped sharply. The Crypto Fear and Greed Index fell into “Extreme Fear,” showing rising panic among investors.

SEC interpretation on crypto laws ‘a beginning, not an end,‘ says Atkins



US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chair Paul Atkins has clarified how the agency intends to approach digital asset regulation following an interpretative notice issued this week.

In prepared remarks for a Thursday speech at the Practising Law Institute, Atkins said that the SEC would take a different approach to digital assets than its previous “regulation by enforcement” campaign. According to the SEC chair, the agency would first focus on its interpretation of how federal securities laws apply to crypto following the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) last week.

“[...] While the interpretation provides long-needed clarity, I should like to assure this audience that it amounts to a beginning, not an end,” said Atkins.
