Litecoin (LTC) faces turbulent waters despite the bulls' show of strength around $54, and a potential bearish acceleration for Bitcoin could see LTC dump to $30.

As of writing, Bitcoin's downturn to $68,000 in early Asian trading had dragged major altcoins lower.

Litecoin itself fluctuated to a key support level, which bulls must hold to prevent the scenario that could allow sellers to revisit levels seen in 2020.
A solid defense of the $50 area is crucial for Litecoin to bounce higher. If not, the path of least resistance will be lower.

Notably, LTC has consolidated within the $53-$59 region in recent weeks, mirroring efforts seen in 2022.

However, a breakdown from this range during the 2018 and 2020 bear markets plunged prices under $30.

While market conditions vary and a further rise remains the overall outlook, analysts have highlighted current price levels as crucial.

An oversold bounce looms if Bitcoin stabilizes and taps $75,000-$80,000.

But the benchmark digital asset has pulled back to near $68,000, and analysts say it could plummet to under $50,000.

This is a bearish bias that won't augur well for Litecoin, and failure to hold the crucial demand zone will only fuel deeper corrections.

Resolv's USR stablecoin depegs after attacker mints 80 million unbacked tokens, extracts roughly $25 million

An attacker exploited a flaw in Resolv’s USR minting contract, creating ~80 million unbacked tokens from roughly $200,000 in USDC.

USR crashed to $0.025 on Curve before recovering to around $0.85. The RESOLV governance token fell roughly 9%.

The attacker used the stablecoins to purchase 11,409 ETH worth about $23.7 million at current prices, and holds $1.1 million worth of wrapped USR in another address. 

Analysts traced the flaw to a privileged minting role controlled by a single externally owned account with no mint limits or oracle checks.

In a statement on X, Resolv Labs said it had paused all protocol functions and that its collateral pool “remains fully intact” with “no underlying assets” lost.

An attacker exploited a vulnerability in Resolv's USR stablecoin minting contract on Sunday, creating approximately 80 million unbacked tokens and extracting roughly $25 million, according to multiple blockchain security firms.

The attack began around 2:21 a.m. UTC. The X account YieldsAndMore was the first to flag the incident, posting Etherscan transaction data showing that the attacker deposited 100,000 USDC into Resolv's USR Counter contract and received 50 million USR in return, roughly 500 times the expected amount. A second transaction minted an additional 30 million USR.

USR is a dollar-pegged stablecoin that uses a delta-neutral hedging strategy backed by ETH and BTC rather than fiat reserves. The token dropped to $0.025 on its most liquid Curve Finance pool within 17 minutes of the first mint, per DEX Screener. It later recovered to around $0.85 but had not restored its peg as of Sunday morning.

Federal prosecutors told a judge that a letter purportedly sent by Sam Bankman-Fried from prison was actually shipped via FedEx from somewhere else entirely, suggesting someone outside impersonated him.

The filing adds an unusual wrinkle to Bankman-Fried's post-conviction fight. The FTX founder, sentenced to 25 years for fraud and conspiracy, has been pursuing a new trial from Federal Correctional Institution Terminal Island in San Pedro, California.

Prosecutors say the suspect letter was docketed March 16 but shipped from Palo Alto or Menlo Park, mislabeled the prison as a state facility, and carried a typed "/s/" instead of an actual signature.

Bureau of Prisons regulations bar inmates from sending mail through private carriers like FedEx, prosecutors noted.

Taken together, prosecutors said these discrepancies provide “reason to doubt” the letter was sent by Bankman-Fried.

The government did not accuse the defendant or his associates of fabricating the document, but the filing signals a willingness to challenge the reliability of materials submitted as part of his effort to secure a new trial.

Bankman-Fried has repeatedly argued that he did not receive a fair trial and has pointed to what he claims is new evidence, including the later recovery of customer funds through the FTX bankruptcy process.

Appellate judges have signaled skepticism toward that argument, stressing that the case turned on how customer funds were used and represented at the time, not whether creditors were later made whole.

According to BubbleMaps, that single entity pulled this off by deploying over 7,000 newly created wallets ahead of the drop, with the total haul across wallets amounting to about $8 million. The token linked to the project, the $ROBO token, launched on February 27, with a 5% airdrop dedicated to the community. However, BubbleMaps reported that a single entity may have been able to game the system and walk away with tokens worth about $8 million at launch prices. The analytics platform claims that the wallets all showed similar on-chain behavior; they were funded via similar paths with ETH sourced from seven exchanges about two months before. Those funds were also layered via multiple intermediate wallets before the claim occurred, confirming this was premeditated and deliberate. All together, the newly created wallets claimed about 199 million $ROBO tokens, which amounts to about 40% of the total allocated to the community. “Consistent patterns in the funding, timing, and movements out of these wallets point to one entity sybilling the airdrop,” BubbleMaps wrote on X. Growth Rate of M2 Global Money Supply Slows Down – Major Implications for Bitcoin


Cryptocurrency analysis platform Alphractal has indicated a slowdown in a key indicator of global liquidity. According to data shared by the company, the annual rate of change (YoY) of the global M2 money supply has begun to show a downward trend.

The analysis noted that while the global M2 money supply is still increasing compared to last year, its growth rate has slowed significantly. This indicates a loss of momentum in liquidity creation worldwide, particularly in major economies.

Alphractal pointed out that historically, increases in the M2 money supply have often shown a positive correlation with the Bitcoin price, meaning that increased liquidity can support rallies in the crypto market. However, he also noted that this correlation is not always consistent.

On the other hand, it was stated that the global M2 money supply turning negative on an annual basis has generated significant signals in past cycles. According to the analysis, especially in the last three Bitcoin cycles, the periods when M2 growth turned negative in the post-halving periods tended to coincide with market lows.

However, it was also noted that it could take months for M2 growth to move into negative territory, or in some scenarios, it might never reach that level. Therefore, analysts said that this indicator should be closely monitored to understand the direction of global liquidity and to interpret market cycles more accurately.

This helps them collect a large portion of Bitcoin’s limited supply on their balance sheet. This approach shows that Saylor strongly believes in Bitcoin as a long-term asset, even when the market is uncertain.

Market conditions are raising eyebrows

That being said, the current market reflects strong fear among retail investors, with Bitcoin hovering around $68,578 and the Crypto Fear & Greed Index firmly in the “extreme fear” zone.

Many traders are even betting on Bitcoin’s price dropping below $45,000 rather than a move toward $100,000 this year. Yet, despite this sentiment, Strategy continues to buy Bitcoin without hesitation.

So far, the company has made 103 purchases, accumulating a massive 761,068 BTC. However, due to aggressive buying at higher levels, its average purchase price stands at around $75,696, putting its $52.36 billion holdings at an unrealized loss of roughly 9%.

This clearly shows a strategy focused on accumulation rather than timing the market.

Strategy’s “buy the dip” formula

MSTR’s stock is also under slight pressure, trading at $135.66 at press time. However, looking at MSTR stock options, there’s a clear battle happening.

Many traders have placed “put” bets between $80 and $110, which suggests they believe the stock has strong support in that range and may not fall much lower.
