BlackRock will not launch complex or "exotic" forms of cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds as part of its digital asset investments. Robert Mitchnick, a BlackRock executive responsible for digital assets, revealed this information while participating in a discussion on CNBC's Crypto World program. He stated that the company will adopt a cautious and disciplined approach to expanding its digital asset investments. He further stated that the company will keep a close eye on the demand for other forms of cryptocurrency ETFs before launching them under its iShares platform.

Mitchnick observed that the current interests from investors are mainly focused on investing in Bitcoin and Ether. These two are the most dominant digital currencies by market capitalization across the globe. He further clarified that other digital currencies are still generating some interest, though they are not yet mature enough to be included in large investment vehicles. Therefore, BlackRock continues to monitor the development and adoption of other digital currencies before introducing other ETFs. He said, "We continue to evaluate those as conditions evolve and as maturity, liquidity, scale and use cases develop, but we take a very discerning approach in terms of what we would put in an iShares ETF."

Leading Economists Reveal Their Fed Interest Rate Forecasts

According to a Bloomberg survey, economists expect the Fed to cut interest rates twice this year. Economists surveyed also expressed some concerns about Kevin Warsh, Donald Trump’s nominee for Fed chairman.

A survey of 46 economists revealed that expectations for the Fed’s next interest rate cut have shifted from March to June. Despite this, most participants still predict two rate cuts of 25 basis points each before the end of the year.

According to the survey results, economists believe the pace of interest rate cuts will be faster than what futures markets are pricing in. Furthermore, this expectation implies one more rate cut than the median estimate shared by Fed officials last December.

On the other hand, approximately one-third of the economists surveyed expressed concern about Kevin Warsh, the nominee for Fed chairman. Warsh’s commitment to maintaining the Fed’s 2% inflation target also raised questions. Thirteen percent of participants said they were unsure whether Warsh would stick to this target, while eighteen percent thought he would not.

The survey also noted that expectations for interest rate cuts have changed in recent months. While the December survey predicted that the Fed would cut rates in March and September, the latest survey, conducted between March 6-11 (following the start of the conflict in the Middle East), expects the first cut to be in June and the second in October.

Despite the unresolved geopolitical conflicts in the Middle East, Bitcoin prices continued to rise.

The entire cryptocurrency market saw widespread gains.

On Friday, Bitcoin continued its consistent pattern throughout its short history: unexpected moves.

Despite suffering a significant price drop two weeks ago when the Iran war broke out, and experts warning of a potential plunge as part of a broader sell-off in risk assets, the leading cryptocurrency is currently trading above $72,000, having previously approached $74,000 in early ET trading—its first such move since early February.

Bitcoin prices rose 2% over the past day. According to CoinGecko, Bitcoin prices have risen over 8% in the past month.

“Investors may believe that Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies as a whole are oversold relative to other assets, and are therefore increasing their investments,” GSR Research’s Carlos Guzman told DL News.

Bitcoin’s rise comes as US President Trump says the worst blow to Iran is yet to come.

“We have unparalleled firepower, unlimited ammunition, and plenty of time,” the president wrote late Thursday night on his Truth Social platform. “Let’s see what happens to these lunatics today.”

Ethereum is approaching a milestone that few investors would welcome: its longest run of consecutive monthly losses since the 2018 crypto winter.

Since September 2025, ETH has posted six straight monthly declines, a stretch that has cut its price by roughly 60% from its August 2025 record high of $4,953 to below $2,000.

A losing streak of this length is uncommon for a network that is simultaneously posting record transaction activity, and that contrast makes the current phase notable.

Update (March 5, 2026, 12:00 UTC): Ethereum has continued to trade near the $2,000 level in early March while derivatives positioning and macro sentiment remain cautious, and a late-February options expiry added to short-term volatility; however, there is still no clear sign yet that ETF flows, stablecoin liquidity, or macro conditions have turned decisively in ETH’s favor.

The daily chart tells the scale of both the damage and the recovery. $TRUMP bottomed near $2.68 at the lower Bollinger Band earlier this week after months of grinding lower inside a descending channel defined by a falling resistance trendline from the October 2025 highs. Yesterday’s spike broke price above the BB midline at $3.94, the 20-day EMA at $3.35, the 50-day at $3.71, and the 100-day at $4.45 in a single session.

At press time, the upper Bollinger Band at $3.94 has flipped from resistance to support. Above that sits the 100-day EMA and the 200-day EMA at $5.94, which has capped every recovery attempt since 2025. A close above it would be the first genuine structural break in months.
