Nevada regulators push back after prediction market conference blames them for move
Predict 2026 says it moved to New York from Las Vegas because of "regulatory pressure" from the Nevada Gaming Control Board. A spokesperson for the regulator says otherwise.
"The Nevada Gaming Control Board did not direct, request, or otherwise pressure any licensee or venue to cancel or decline to host any recent or upcoming event or conference, as has been suggested," a spokesperson told CoinDesk.
Earlier this month, the Prediction Conference, which featured some top traders from Polymarket, took place in Las Vegas – but at a hotel without a casino.

"We had a successful event last month that was attended by several stakeholders and will be hosting a second edition in November again in Las Vegas," its founder, Ish Milly, told CoinDesk. "Our venue is off the strip and not in a casino."

A spokesperson for the Nevada gaming regulator also told CoinDesk that "Gaming licensees are expected to adhere to all federal, state, and local statutes and ordinances and prevent any occurrences that may bring discredit to the state or the gaming industry.”
Nevada is one of the states that is locked in a legal battle with the prediction market industry.
In April, a judge in the state ruled that Kalshi's prediction markets were "indistinguishable" from gambling and ordered an in-state ban on the platform to be extended.

Recently, Michael Selig, chair of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, told Axios that sports betting and prediction markets are "two separate things." Selig also said that the CFTC is working with major sports leagues on market surveillance and other market integrity measures.

That performance sharply exceeded the S&P 500’s average gain of 8.7% during the same period.

Applied Digital (APLD) posted the strongest performance among the group, rallying 69.8% over the past month, while Cipher Mining (CIFR) followed with a 22.7% increase.

The trend further highlighted the close relationship between Bitcoin’s market performance and companies with significant $BTC exposure, particularly Michael Saylor’s Strategy.

A recent AMBCrypto report showed that while Bitcoin gained roughly 20% during the second quarter, MSTR rallied nearly 2.5 times more, underscoring the strong correlation between capital inflows and equity market performance.

With today’s price drop, the Bitcoin price extended its second reversal from the $82,500 resistance zone, since last week. The pullback is positioned at the resistance trendline of rising channel pattern, signaling an intense overhead supply pressuring the coin price.

Since February 2026, the coin price has actively resonated within the two parallel trendlines of the channel which offered active resistance and support to traders. Historically, a retest to the upper boundary has often renewed selling pressure in the market and driven a notable correction in price.

A deeper analysis of the 4-hour chart further highlights the formation of classic reversal pattern double-top, further reinforcing the risk of prolonged correction. The falling Bitcoin price also attempted a breakdown below the pattern’s neckline support of $79,230 as shown in the below chart.

If the breakdown holds, the Bitcoin price could extend a deeper correction of 5.88% to retest the $75,000, followed by an extended drop to $72,000 and retest the aforementioned channel support.On the contrary, if Bitcoin manages to sustain above the $79,000 floor, the price trajectory could switch sideways and drive a short consolidation before the next breakout.

That is a 1,220% increase in seven days and brings XRP’s year-to-date flow to $191 million. XRP’s assets under management also climbed to about $2.56 billion, placing it among the strongest non-Bitcoin crypto investment products in the latest report.Bitcoin still dominated the market with $706.1 million in weekly inflows, while Ethereum recorded $77.1 million and Solana brought in $47.6 million. However, those numbers mostly reflect the larger size of their markets. 

XRP’s move is much more notable because it shows a sudden change in allocation behavior. Investors who had only been adding small amounts to XRP products in previous weeks stepped in with much larger sizes, pushing XRP ahead of most altcoin products outside of Ethereum and SolanaInterestingly, the regional flow data shows that the United States was the main pipeline of last week’s rebound. US-based products recorded $776.6 million in inflows, a 1,530% recovery from the previous week’s $47.5 million inflows. Germany followed with $50.6 million, Switzerland added $21.1 million, and the Netherlands recorded $5 million.
