Citi Says Mixing Bitcoin With Gold Can Boost Your Portfolio Performance
Citi analysts say holding both gold and bitcoin can improve portfolio performance compared with traditional bond-and-equity mixes. In a new report cited by CNBC, analyst Alex Saunders said a 5% allocation to gold enhances portfolio efficiency, while splitting that exposure between gold and bitcoin produces stronger results.

The analysis found the mixed allocation improves returns in bond bull markets and provides resilience during bear-steepening cycles tied to fiscal concerns and rising inflation risk.

Citi noted that bitcoin often performs better than gold when bond markets weaken, highlighting recent gains amid geopolitical and equity market stress. Over the past two months, bitcoin has risen 9%, while spot gold has declined 4%. Saunders said the tactical appeal of a combined allocation lies in balancing the relative popularity of gold with bitcoin’s growth characteristics.

Cantor Fitzgerald Donates $10 Million to Crypto PAC Led by Tether Executive

Cantor Fitzgerald has donated $10 million to Fellowship PAC, a crypto-focused super PAC chaired by Tether's U.S. head of government affairs Jesse Spiro, according to Federal Election Commission filings disclosed Wednesday.

The donation comes at a moment when the line between traditional finance and crypto lobbying capital is becoming hard to define.

The headline number is large enough to matter. Whether it buys the regulatory outcomes the industry wants - and on what timeline - is the harder question.

A super PAC operates without contribution limits from corporations or individuals, provided it does not coordinate directly with candidates.

Fellowship PAC uses that structure to back pro-crypto candidates in federal races and fund issue-advocacy advertising - the $3 million already spent on advocacy ads is the clearest example of the latter in action.

Crypto prices today are in the green zone as a mix of geopolitical breakthroughs, positive macro signals, and regulatory developments push the market higher. Bitcoin is leading the charge. Meanwhile, altcoins like XRP and Dogecoin are also posting solid gains. The global market cap is up 0.96% at $2.54 trillion at press time.

Bitcoin is up 0.98% in the last 24 hours at $75,107. It has a market cap of over $1.5 trillion. Trading volume is around $38.3 billion, showing healthy market activity. The world's largest cryptocurrency continues to hold its ground above the $75,000 mark, a level many traders consider psychologically important.

CoinSwitch Markets Desk noted, “Funding rates have been negative for 46 days, meaning many traders are positioning against BTC,  which can fuel a sharp rally if prices rise. Bitcoin dominance is steady at 58.5%, showing its control over the market. With volatility tightening, $75,000 remains the key level to watch for a real breakout or another rejection.”
