Is XRP Price Being Suppressed Before a Major Pump? One Analyst Thinks So

$XRP could be gearing up for a move ahead of the 2026 midterms, and crypto analyst Zach Rector breaks down what’s going on behind the scenes.

He points out that markets are currently stuck in a “liquidity squeeze,” driven by rising global debt, geopolitical tensions, and capital outflows, something even the IMF has flagged. Add to that the yen carry trade unwind, private credit stress, and oil price swings from Middle East tensions, and it’s creating a broader “global margin call,” where assets, including crypto, face selling pressure.

At the same time, inflation is picking up again, with the U.S. PPI hitting around 4%. Interestingly, he said that liquidity isn’t gone; central bank balance sheets hint it’s already creeping back quietly.

Still, he keeps the sentiments slow: expect a “drop before the pop.” A deeper shakeout could come before things turn bullish.

Reason 1: Liquidity Injection & Lower Rates

The first trigger is the central bank’s participation. With economic stress building, he expects rate cuts and fresh liquidity injections. A new Fed chair is also expected soon, potentially accelerating this change. More liquidity means more capital flowing into risk assets like $XRP.

• Despite the price strength, on-chain activity remains subdued, with daily active addresses trending lower. This suggests the move is being driven more by derivatives and short-term positioning than organic network demand.

Bitcoin rally stalls below $76,000 as institutional demand fades

Bitcoin price traded sideways today as short-term traders booked profits following yesterday’s impressive run-up above $75,500.

The total crypto market cap receded below the $2.6 trillion mark, but the crypto fear and greed index remained unchanged from the previous day at 53, which marks a neutral level.

This means investors are cooling their expectations rather than flipping bearish.

Except for a few small-cap altcoins, most of the leading digital assets experienced a slow day as market participants awaited a clearer signal for the next leg up.

Why is Bitcoin price falling today?

Bitcoin price fell to an intraday low of $73,617 today as short-term traders started booking profits near the recent local highs and high-leveraged long positions were forced to unwind rapidly as the price climbed above $75,000.

Over $152 million in long positions were liquidated in the past 24 hours, with Bitcoin accounting for over $50 million of the total wipeout.

This cascade of liquidations created immediate downward pressure as the market corrected from overbought conditions.

With the absence of any fresh macro catalysts to extend the rally, investors had little incentive to aggressively push the price higher.

As Bitcoin failed to breach the psychological and technical resistance level of $76,000, where it briefly swept liquidity, it became evident that there wasn't enough sustained buying pressure to hold that level.

This failure to maintain momentum forced the asset back into its previous consolidation range.

While large-scale whale wallets reportedly added over 27,000 $BTC during this dip, roughly $291 million in outflows from spot Bitcoin ETFs acted as a significant headwind.

The immediate institutional outflow created enough short-term friction to stall the bullish trend.

South Korea to test blockchain deposit tokens for government spending in Q
South Korea’s Ministry of Economy and Finance will begin testing blockchain-based deposit tokens for government spending in the fourth quarter as part of a broader push to modernize how public funds are managed.

The ministry said the pilot to spend Treasury funds as digital currency was approved under a 2026 regulatory sandbox program, local media reported.

The approval allows business promotion expenses, currently processed with government purchasing cards, to be paid using tokenized deposits.

The change alters a long-standing system governed by the Treasury Funds Management Act, which required card-based payments. In the sandbox environment, agencies will be able to operate outside those rules on a limited basis to test new methods.

Officials expect the change to improve oversight. Token-based payments can be programmed with predefined conditions, including limits on when funds can be used and which industries can accept them. This could reduce the need for manual audits, especially when spending occurs outside standard hours.

The system also removes intermediaries such as card networks, which the ministry says could lower transaction fees for small businesses that receive government payments.

This marks the second use of deposit tokens in Treasury operations, following an earlier pilot tied to electric vehicle-charging infrastructure subsidies.

The trial will take place in Sejong City after a selection process for participating firms, the report states. The ministry plans to expand the program if it shows stronger control over spending and measurable cost savings.
