Tron Crypto Upgrade Targets Malicious Activity with New Contract Rules

The Tron crypto community has reportedly passed Proposal 106, which will facilitate some structural changes. According to the official Tron DAO page, the proposal will enable modifications to the SELFDESTRUCT opcode.

In simpler terms, the proposal will enable changes to the Tron Crypto network’s smart contract operations. For example, Tron DAO noted that “contracts will be deleted if they are executed within the same transaction where they were created.

According to the announcement, the contract code data will remain onchain unless the SELFDESTRUCT optcode deletes the data. This is in accordance with the first point.

These changes will reportedly benefit the Tron crypto network in terms of security. For example, they will block malicious actors from force closing contracts after deployment. A key benefit is that it boosts the line of defense against malicious actors.

The changes will also make audits easier since the data will not be deleted. The third change will be a shift in energy costs from 0 to 5000 units in smart contract computation. A shift that could boost organic demand for TRX crypto.

At the time of writing, both Solana’s Spot and Futures volume charts revealed that trading activity has stayed weak for months.

Since November 2025, most of the bubbles have remained in the green “cooling” zone. In fact, there’s been lower participation from both spot buyers and derivatives traders.

During this period, SOL’s price fell from around $160 to the $80-$90 range. The biggest drop came in late January to early February, when the token fell from about $125 to below $80 on the charts.

There were small recoveries towards $90-$95 in March, but volumes did not pick up.

Derivatives numbers look positive

Volumes might be weak, but there’s more! Solana’s Aggregated Open Interest has held relatively stable around the $2.0B-$2.1B range. Traders haven’t fully exited the market just yet.

At the same time, funding rates were also back in positive territory, at around 0.006 at press time. Long positions seemed to be regaining strength, even if there wasn’t enough belief.

Earlier this month, there was high short pressure. That phase has eased since, with mild optimism being the mood for now.

SOL holds near $85

On the price charts, SOL was stable, but not quite strong enough. At the time of writing, the altcoin was trading at around $85, being range-bound after weeks of decline.

The RSI was near neutral; no clear bias from buyers or sellers. The DMI indicator also highlighted weak trend strength. So, it confirmed that neither bulls nor bears were in firm control.

This decline, which reflects the strain of recent market activity, indicates that an increasing percentage of holders are either at breakeven or sitting on unrealized losses.

Darkfost stated that nearly 1 BTC out of 2 is held at a loss as of Thursday. To be precise, the share of Bitcoin supply still in profit is estimated at around 59%, a level that almost aligns with what was observed during the last bear market. According to historical data, the average level sits closer to about 75% of supply in profit. Therefore, the current market cycle is now below typical levels.

These levels can trigger periods of capitulation or consolidation, but they also frequently indicate a decline in market confidence and a diminished motivation to sell.
