Bitcoin rebounds above $74,000 in 'risk-on snapback' despite persisting Middle East tensions

Bitcoin climbed 4.9% above $74,000 late Monday, while Ethereum jumped 7.9% to $2,365, as traders weighed the impact of unresolved U.S.-Iran tensions.

Crypto-related stocks closed higher on Monday, with Circle jumping 12% and Bullish rising 7.5%.

Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other major cryptocurrencies rebounded late Monday in a "classic risk-on snapback," as traders continue to digest the protracted U.S.-Iran conflict, analysts said.

Bitcoin climbed 4.9% over the past 24 hours to $74,414 as of 12:55 a.m. ET Tuesday, offsetting weekend losses, according to The Block's crypto price page. The world's largest cryptocurrency fell to a low of around $70,600 earlier in the day.

Ether jumped 7.9% to $2,365, while XRP added 3.2% to $1.37, and Solana gained 4.9% to $85.97. The GMCI 30 index, which tracks the performance of the top 30 cryptocurrencies, rose 4.9%.

The crypto market rebound came alongside a broader rally in U.S. stocks, with crypto-related equities closing higher on Monday. Circle jumped 12%, Bullish rose 7.5%, and Coinbase gained 3.9%.

SpaceX is holding onto 8,285 bitcoins valued at $603 million even as the company reported a nearly $5 billion loss for 2025, new data shows.

The aerospace firm keeps its digital currency in Coinbase Prime custody and has not sold any despite the financial hit, according to the data from Arkham Intelligence and The Information report published Friday. The loss is a complete turnaround from the previous year when SpaceX made about $8 billion in profit on sales between $15 billion and $16 billion.

The company’s bitcoin balance stayed steady since the middle of 2024 after hitting a peak value above $1.6 billion during October 2025 when bitcoin reached record highs. SpaceX now ranks as the fourth-biggest known corporate bitcoin owner, trailing only Strategy, Marathon Digital, and Riot Platforms.

SpaceX filed for an initial public offering last month that will require the company to reveal its bitcoin holdings in public documents for the first time. This could force the company to make accounting choices under new FASB rules that started in late 2025.

The documentary follows their work conducting interviews with industry figures including Michael Saylor, alongside forensic analysis and reviews of longstanding theories.

The film examines Bitcoin’s origins and its impact while seeking a definitive answer to the question of Satoshi’s identity. “Finding Satoshi” is scheduled to premiere online on April 22.

Todd rejected the conclusion, and the film ultimately failed to convince the public that he was a credible match.
