Global Giant BlackRock Makes the Long-Awaited Big Move for Ethereum (ETH)!

BlackRock, a global giant with spot Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum ($ETH) ETFs, has launched a new ETF.

Accordingly, BlackRock’s Ethereum staking ETF will begin trading on US exchanges.

BlackRock’s iShares Staked Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHB) will begin trading on Nasdaq today.

ETHB will be the third cryptocurrency ETF launched by BlackRock.

The fund offers investors exposure to spot $ETH positions as well as the opportunity to earn staking rewards.

Furthermore, ETHB becomes the first cryptocurrency ETF to include staking functionality; ETHB will hold physical Ethereum but will stake a portion of its assets on the Ethereum network.

Speaking to Coindesk, Jay Jacobs, BlackRock’s US ETF manager, said, “Some investors who already hold Ethereum directly are staking it, but they are hesitant to move their assets to an ETF for fear of losing staking rewards. By integrating the staking function into the ETF, investors can retain the benefits of staking while also taking advantage of the operational advantages of an ETF.”

ETHB’s governance fee is 0.25%. However, BlackRock plans to reduce the fee to 0.12% during ETHB’s first year after launch, until its assets reach $2.5 billion.

Jacobs commented on the matter, saying, “This temporary discount will help us gain market share in the first few months after the ETF’s launch.”

Meanwhile, Bitcoin is trading inside a tight whale liquidity zone, with heavy sell orders stacked between $71,000 and $72,500 and strong bid support clustered around $69,000 to $68,700, according to a CoinGlass whale order chart. That setup suggests price is being compressed between large opposing liquidity blocks, which often leads to a sharper move once one side gives way.


The chart shows repeated sell walls above the current range, especially near the low-$71,000 area and again closer to $72,000 to $72,500. At the same time, several bid clusters sit below price around $69,000, with another deeper support zone forming near $68,700. This leaves Bitcoin boxed between nearby resistance and support created by larger market participants.

Because price is sitting closer to the lower half of that range, the immediate pressure appears slightly tilted downward unless buyers reclaim the upper liquidity band. If Bitcoin loses the $69,000 support area, the next move could extend quickly toward the deeper bid zones below, since liquidity gaps often allow faster price movement. On the other hand, if buyers absorb the sell walls and push above $71,000 to $72,500, that would signal stronger momentum and could open the way for a more aggressive upside expansion.

In other words, the chart points to a market waiting for resolution. As long as Bitcoin stays trapped between these whale levels, price may remain choppy. However, once the range breaks, the concentration of orders on both sides suggests the next move could be fast and directional.

The episode rattled an already jittery market and drew a sharp rebuke from Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who accused Washington of deliberately spreading false information to manipulate oil prices.

"It won't protect them from the inflationary tsunami they've imposed on Americans," Araghchi said.

The intelligence that triggered the price surge came from CBS White House Correspondent Jennifer Jacobs, who reported that US intelligence assets had picked up signs of Iranian mine deployment activity in the Strait.
