XRP price outlook: can rising ETF inflows push the token above $1.50?



Bitcoin ($BTC), Ethereum ($ETH), and Ripple ($XRP) are trading cautiously on Wednesday as price action approaches key technical levels across these top three cryptocurrencies.

$BTC, the leading cryptocurrency by market cap, has stalled near the key resistance level around $82,000 while $ETH holds firm above the key support at $2,275.

Meanwhile, $XRP has recovered from Tuesday’s dip and is now approaching the upper boundary of its descending channel, where a breakout will open the door for further gains.

Telecom giant KDDI invests $65M in Coincheck to expand blockchain finance
KDDI leverages existing telecom infrastructure to streamline digital asset access for Japanese consumers.KDDI Corporation, one of Japan’s largest telecom operators with more than 30 million mobile subscribers, is spending $65 million to buy a 14.9% stake in Coincheck Group N.V., the Netherlands-based holding company behind one of Japan’s most-downloaded crypto exchanges.

The two companies are also launching a joint venture called au Coincheck Digital Assets, which plans to roll out a digital asset wallet by this summer.

The deal pairs KDDI’s mobile payments ecosystem (its au PAY platform) with Coincheck’s exchange infrastructure and licensed trading operations.

The joint venture is majority-owned by KDDI at 50.1%, with Coincheck holding 40% and au Financial Holdings, KDDI’s financial services arm, taking the remaining 9.9%. The entity was incorporated in December 2025, but the capital alliance and formal business agreement were signed this week.

KDDI is plugging digital asset services directly into a payment network that already handles banking, insurance, and everyday transactions for tens of millions of Japanese consumers. The wallet the joint venture plans to build is non-custodial, meaning users hold their own keys.

Senate Confirms Bitcoin-Friendly Kevin Warsh to Fed Board, Clearing Path to Chairmanship

President Donald Trump’s nominee to lead the Federal Reserve, Kevin Warsh, cleared a key Senate hurdle Tuesday, putting a bitcoin-friendly former Fed governor one vote away from becoming the most powerful central banker in the world.

President Donald Trump’s push to install Kevin Warsh as the next chair of the Federal Reserve moved closer to completion Tuesday after the Senate confirmed him to the Fed’s Board of Governors, a step that clears the path for a final vote on the chairmanship later this week.

The Senate approved Warsh in a 51-45 vote that fell along party lines, with Sen. John Fetterman joining Republicans in support of the nominee. If confirmed as chair, Warsh would replace Jerome Powell, whose term leading the central bank ends Friday.

Warsh’s rise has drawn attention across financial markets and the Bitcoin industry because of his public support for bitcoin and his ties to crypto-related firms. 
Unlike past Fed leaders who treated digital assets with skepticism, Warsh has described bitcoin as “an important asset” and “a very good policeman for policy,” arguing that its price can reflect confidence in the Federal Reserve’s handling of inflation and monetary policy.

“Bitcoin doesn’t trouble me,” Warsh said during a Hoover Institution event last year, where he framed the asset as a signal of monetary credibility rather than a threat to the U.S. dollar.
His confirmation follows financial disclosures showing Warsh held an equity stake in Flashnet, a Bitcoin payments startup focused on lightning-style transaction infrastructure for merchants and fintech companies. The disclosure marked one of the clearest links yet between a potential Federal Reserve chair and a company tied to Bitcoin adoption.

Senate Banking Committee members have filed more than 100 proposed amendments to the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, according to Politico reporting. The panel is set to convene on Thursday for a long-awaited markup vote that crypto and industry leaders say could reshape digital asset regulation in the United States.

The committee scheduled its executive session for 10:30 a.m. on May 14 at Room 538 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building in Washington, D.C., where lawmakers will debate the amendments and vote on whether to send the bill to the full Senate floor.
