The latest acquisitions were funded by proceeds from the issuance and sale of the company's Class A common stock, MSTR, and perpetual preferred stock, STRC.

Bitcoin treasury company Strategy acquired an additional 17,994 BTC for approximately $1.28 billion at an average price of $70,946 per bitcoin between March 2 and March 8, according to an 8-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday.

Strategy now holds a total of 738,731 BTC - worth around $50 billion - bought at an average price of $75,862 per bitcoin for a total cost of around $56 billion, including fees and expenses, according to the company's co-founder and executive chairman, Michael Saylor.
