Cardano price prediction hints at strong downtrend, but dip buyers may be ready to strike!
The Dijkstra era planning helped lift Cardano’s [$ADA] price bullishly last week. The altcoin made a bullish structure break on 6th August. However, it soon slipped into a retracement phase.
The past eight days of trading have been red, and the token has shed 11.2% of its value since the open at $0.201 on Friday, 7th August. Importantly for the lower timeframe traders, the $0.185-$0.190 local support zone has been ceded to the bears.
Buyers would have hoped that the bullish structure and the Dijkstra era impetus could push Cardano’s price higher. Alas, it was not to be. Here’s how deep the retracement can go and where the next buying opportunity would be.
The swing structure remained bullish, and another swing high at $0.211 was set recently. The 1-day timeframe price action made it clear that the recent losses were part of a retracement.
The Fibonacci retracement levels (pale yellow) highlighted the $0.165-$0.175 area as the golden pocket, between the 78.6% and 61.8% retracement levels.
Cardano‘s price was already below the 50% level, within a discount area. A growing discount would make $ADA a better buying opportunity for swing traders.
So long as a daily trading session does not close below $0.153, a move back above $0.211 can be anticipated.
At press time, the 4-hour timeframe’s technical indicators were firmly bearish. The OBV has been in decline over the last eight days, with the MACD well below the zero line to show sustained bearish momentum.
The DMI also showed a strong downtrend in progress, with both the ADX (yellow) and the -DI (red) above 20.
And yet, as the structure revealed, this downtrend on the 4-hour timeframe might only be a retracement phase.
Therefore, swing traders can wait for the key Fibonacci retracement levels to be tested.

Metaplanet and Hut 8 moved large BTC amounts, raising supply concerns.

Bitcoin price remains under pressure as new data points to weak spot demand, even as futures activity grows. That split raises a question: is the market close to a bottom, or is another decline possible before buyers return? Large BTC crypto transfers from treasury firms are also drawing market attention.

Bitcoin Demand Remains Weak As Futures Activity Rises

Bitcoin price is facing a mixed setup. Ki Young Ju said Bitcoin is futures-driven right now, with open interest rising while on-chain spot demand remains net negative. Traders are taking more futures positions, but the wider market is not showing enough direct buying from spot investors.

That matters because a lasting move higher usually needs more than rising futures bets. Ju said a sustainable rally needs both spot and futures demand. He also pointed to April as an example of how futures-led rallies can lose strength when spot demand does not provide enough support.

Lido launches $10M LDO buyback – But NEST may remain idle until…
Staking protocol Lido has finally activated its long-awaited automatic $LDO token buyback program. The programme, also known as NEST (Network Economic Support Token), was first floated last year.
According to the project, the program is now live on the mainnet with a daily limit set at $50K and annual purchases capped at $10M.
It seeks to ensure automatic, dynamic $LDO buybacks, taking into account prevailing market conditions. Under the NEST design, only 50% of the daily staking revenue exceeding $109K will be directed to the buyback program.
That translates to a $40 million annual revenue baseline. Anything below that ($109K daily) means there will be no buyback.
That said, the bought $LDO tokens won’t be burned but will be owned by the DAO treasury. The program was previously criticized for being too low compared to other protocols.

For comparison, Hyperliquid is doing about $100M in annual buyback. Aster and Uniswap run a $40M annual program while PUMP eyes $35M. Compared to $LDO’s $10M annual plan, it was 3-10x smaller than other ongoing programs.

That said, the current staking rewards were still below the daily average of $109K to trigger the buyback program. According to DeFiLlama, the protocol has been making around $75K in daily revenue in August.

Ondo Stocks has crossed $1 billion in total value, a threshold that carries more weight for on-chain market structure than for the round number itself. The update was included in the original report from Ondo Finance, which also pointed to additional ecosystem milestones tied to its recently launched perpetual products.
The move puts tokenized equities in a different conversation. A $1 billion value pool is still small compared with tokenized Treasury or stablecoin markets, but it changes how traders and institutions evaluate on-chain equity access. Rather than treating Ondo Stocks as an experimental window into US equities, market participants may begin pricing it as durable infrastructure for off-hours trading, collateral use, and portfolio construction across chains.
Tokenized equities occupy a middle position between stablecoins and private credit. They are more volatile than cash equivalents but more familiar to traditional investors than lending pools. That middle position may explain why the threshold has arrived now: after years of regulatory ambiguity, some investors are using tokenized wrappers to gain exposure without moving capital into native crypto assets.
That shift fits a broader pattern in tokenized real-world assets. The infrastructure around custody, settlement, and compliance has been consolidating quickly, and Ondo has been one of the more visible names testing how regulated assets can move across traditional and decentralized rails. The tokenization complex is not waiting for a single regulatory framework to mature; it is building around existing rules where it can.
The market reads milestones like this through liquidity and persistence. A platform that reaches $1 billion in value has survived enough trading cycles to be evaluated by market makers, arbitrageurs, and risk teams.

Kraken makes more from less trading – Payward’s Q2 numbers also reveal…
The parent company of Kraken, Payward, reported adjusted revenue of $508 million for the second quarter of 2026. That’s a 17% increase from the previous year.

Additionally, the company reported $23 million in Adjusted EBITDA in its Q2 2026 report, indicating that Adjusted EBITDA remained positive.

The overall volume of platform transactions, however, decreased 18% to $310 billion. This was primarily due to a decline in spot cryptocurrency activity and an increase in stocks and tokenized stocks.

Intriguing enough! Because an exchange that depends significantly on trading fees may experience a decline in revenue if trading volume significantly declines.

But even though there were fewer transactions overall, Payward’s revenue rose. The company says that this is due in part to the fact that it is now doing more than just spot crypto trading.

Was Q2 2026 a healthy quarter for Payward?

That said, the platform’s assets totaled $40 billion, and its real assets climbed 48% year over year to $65 billion.
Strong growth was also seen in funded accounts, which increased 42% to 6.6 million, with Europe seeing the biggest increase after MiCA authorization. From 55% of total revenue in Q2 2025 to 60% in Q2 2026, its asset-based and other revenue grew.

As a result, Payward no longer solely charges trading fees; instead, a greater percentage of its income now comes from assets, services, and other financial products. In other words, Kraken is working to reduce its reliance on cryptocurrency spot trading volumes.

What the Data Shows

Farside Investors, which tracks daily flows for digital asset ETFs, reported that none of the spot Ethereum funds saw any net movement on Aug. 14. This means that while some funds may have experienced individual subscription or redemption activity, the overall net flow across the group was zero.

The absence of net flows comes after a period of mixed activity for these products. Since their launch in late July, spot ETH ETFs have seen volatile flows, with some days recording significant inflows and others seeing outflows. The flat day on Aug. 14 suggests that investors are taking a wait-and-see approach, possibly awaiting clearer market signals or macroeconomic cues.

Context: A Brief History of ETH ETF Flows

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission approved spot Ethereum ETFs in July 2024, marking a significant milestone for the cryptocurrency industry. The first few days of trading saw heavy volume, with inflows exceeding $1 billion initially. However, the momentum quickly cooled, and outflows became more common as some investors rotated out of higher-cost funds or took profits.

In the weeks leading up to Aug. 14, flows have been choppy. For instance, on Aug. 12, the funds saw net outflows of $13.7 million, while on Aug. 13, they recorded $5.9 million in inflows. The flat day on Aug. 14 breaks that pattern, but it does not necessarily signal a trend reversal. Market analysts often caution against reading too much into a single day’s flow data

Odds that the CLARITY Act passes this year have fallen to 10%, according to Galaxy Digital (Nasdaq: GLXY). Alex Thorn, head of firmwide research at the digital-asset firm, stated the revised figure in an Aug. 14 post on X, down from 75% in May. The bill would divide U.S. crypto oversight between two federal regulators.

Senators return to Washington on Sept. 14 and face a working period of roughly three weeks before leaving for midterm election activity around Oct. 2. Thorn stated:

“The reality is that CLARITY is now much more about politics than policy.”

The cloture motion on proceeding to the bill will ripen at 2:15 p.m. EDT on Sept. 15, according to the Senate schedule. If held, the procedural vote would place the CLARITY Act among the first major legislative items awaiting lawmakers after the recess. Oversight of digital commodities and certain crypto transactions would be divided between the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).

Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) filed a motion to proceed to H.R. 3633, the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act of 2025, in the final hours before recess, then sought cloture on that motion. Approval would require at least 60 senators. Republicans control 53 seats, meaning supporters need seven more votes if every GOP senator backs the measure.

How Galaxy’s CLARITY Act Odds Fell From 75% to 10%
Galaxy raised its estimate to 75% on May 22, up from 55% before the Senate Banking Committee’s markup. The firm reduced the figure to 60% in June as competing Senate priorities reduced the available floor time, even though the bill had cleared committee with bipartisan support.

By late July, Galaxy had cut the CLARITY Act’s probability of becoming law to 30%, down from an intervening 50% estimate. The July 24 revision followed the release of a 616-page combined Senate proposal as unresolved ethics, illicit-finance,
