Most chains still force the same awkward choice.
Either your data sits completely open for anyone to watch, or it disappears so thoroughly that the people who actually need to verify things can’t. Institutions look at that and quietly walk away. It’s not drama. It’s just practical reality.
Dusk Network approaches it differently.
It’s a Layer-1 built specifically for financial applications that need privacy without cutting themselves off from compliance. The Confidential Security Contract standard (XSC) is the clearest example. You can issue and manage tokenized securities while keeping ownership details, balances, and transfer rules confidential, yet still produce the exact information authorized parties require when they need it. Selective disclosure instead of total blackout.
They also support confidential smart contracts natively. The logic that runs the process doesn’t have to live in public view. That combination automation plus controlled privacy is rare.
I’m not claiming this solves every problem overnight. Building real market infrastructure takes time. But the direction feels more honest than most of what I see. They’re trying to meet regulated finance where it actually is, instead of asking it to change its nature to fit a blockchain narrative.
Quiet, deliberate work. Worth watching.
