Prediction market platform Kalshi has expanded its list of restricted jurisdictions by adding India, reflecting growing regulatory pressure on online prediction markets around the world. According to an updated members' agreement, residents of India are now prohibited from accessing the platform, bringing the total number of restricted jurisdictions to 55.

The move follows increasing scrutiny from Indian regulators. Earlier this year, India's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology reportedly warned VPN providers against facilitating access to blocked prediction market and online betting platforms. Authorities have expressed concerns regarding compliance, consumer protection, and the legal status of such services within the country.

India is not alone in tightening restrictions. Several countries, including Spain, Indonesia, Singapore, Poland, Portugal, Hungary, Ukraine, and Brazil, have also taken action against prediction market platforms such as Kalshi and Polymarket. Regulators in these jurisdictions argue that many prediction contracts resemble gambling products and may fall under existing betting laws.

Political and sports-related contracts have become a major focus of regulatory attention. Governments are increasingly concerned about potential market manipulation, insider information risks, and the growing overlap between prediction markets and traditional sports betting industries.

Despite regulatory challenges, prediction markets continue to attract significant user activity. The European Parliament’s Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee has approved its position on the digital euro package, advancing legislative work on a proposed central bank digital currency that the European Central Bank wants ready for potential issuance by 2029.

European lawmakers approved the latest digital euro proposal, bringing the ECB backed CBDC a step closer to a potential 2029 launch.



The draft includes offline payments, privacy protections based on zero knowledge proofs, and limits on how much digital euro individuals can hold.



The vote comes as European officials push ahead with digital euro plans while private sector initiatives such as Qivalis prepare regulated euro stablecoins.








The committee said on Tuesday that lawmakers backed the proposal in a 43 to 14 vote. The draft legislation sets out rules for how a digital euro would operate, who could distribute it, and what safeguards would apply to users and financial institutions.



Fernando Navarrete Rojas, a member of the European Parliament, said the proposal preserves consumers’ ability to choose their preferred payment method and described the digital euro as a complement to cash rather than a replacement.

Under the committee’s proposal, the ECB would issue the digital euro for use across the eurozone through both online and offline payment options.

However, in the scenario where regulatory clarity accelerates tokenized asset adoption, AAVE’s price could go to the aforementioned target.The price structure was bearish on the 1-day timeframe after breaking the $85.05 low toward the end of May [orange]. The OBV has been in a downtrend in 2026, with some gains made in April and May. This indicated a brief spurt of buying, but not enough to change the long-term trend.

The $77.95 and $51.81 levels were key horizontal ones from the previous cycle. They served as support back in 2023 and 2024, but the former was tested as resistance in recent days. AAVE faced rejection at $78 and is likely to go towards $50 next.

The DOJ said blockchain intelligence firms Chainalysis and Elliptic, working with Google’s CyberCrime Investigation Team, assisted in the investigation.
