An analysis shared by Cryptoquant on June 23 showed a split in positioning on Gate crypto exchange, with select altcoins recording stronger outflows than inflows while other cryptocurrencies attracted increased deposits. The findings were based on the Gate Netflow Heatmap, which tracks inflows and outflows across multiple crypto assets.

The data showed a group of tokens recording stronger outflows than inflows, a pattern often associated with accumulation activity.

The analyst explained:

“Some altcoins are leaving Gate more than others. This may be an early sign of accumulation.”

The analysis identified several assets showing stronger outflows than inflows, including voyager token (VGX), amp (AMP), 0x (ZRX), the sandbox (SAND), quant (QNT), yearn.finance (YFI), YFF, chiliz (CHZ), aavegotchi (GHST), decentraland (MANA), jasmycoin (JASMY), and compound (COMP). Exchange withdrawals can indicate that investors are moving holdings into private wallets rather than keeping them available for immediate trading.

Investors may be prioritizing these assets for accumulation and future speculation, according to the analysis. Those positions were reflected in the stronger outflow activity observed on Gate.

The leading crypto political action committee, Fairshake, often backs its favored hopefuls for the U.S. House of Representatives with ad campaigns in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, but it devoted Senate-level money — some $5.5 million — to Adrian Boafo, a Democrat who just won his party's nomination for a Maryland seat on Tuesday.

The state delegate's dominant victory records another success for the industry's super PAC and its affiliates after having notched a big primary election win with its $12 million devoted to Barry Moore's Alabama Senate bid last week.

Boafo's campaign website says he's looking to "provide responsible regulatory clarity for innovators building the next generation of financial tools," though it also included consumer-protection language often associated with crypto-resistance Democrats. Still, he has a record of pro-crypto legislative efforts in his state and favorably completed advocacy group Stand With Crypto's political questionnaire to earn that group's "A" rating.

The industry's support didn't go unnoticed. The open seat drew a massive number of Democratic candidates to replace outgoing Rep. Steny Hoyer, and Maryland's U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen bashed the "obscene amount of big special-interest money" Boafo received in the race.

In the same state, Fairshake backed incumbent Representative April McClain Delaney for $516,000, while also contributing ad spending in other states' Tuesday primaries to Republican incumbent Representative Blake Moore in Utah and $1.3 million for one of the industry's most reliable allies in the House, Representative Ritchie Torres, a New York Democrat. All of them also won their races or were winning, with McClain Delaney in an early lead with votes still being counted.

The move pushed DEXE to a fresh yearly high near $24 while Bitcoin and most altcoins traded in the red. Derivatives data show the rally came from leverage, not fresh spot demand.

Record Open Interest Fueled the Short Squeeze

DEXE open interest climbed to roughly $70 million on Tuesday, the highest reading on record. That spike arrived as price went vertical, a classic sign of forced positioning rather than steady accumulation.

Coinglass data shows shorts have been the punished side for months. Red short-liquidation bars dominate the chart, while long liquidations stayed small throughout.

The decisive blow came from a short-liquidation cascade worth about $1.3 million, the largest on the chart. That wave of forced buybacks mechanically drove the 70% candle and extended a multi-month rally.

Fading Volume Warns the Rally Could Stall

The squeeze looks powerful, yet the weekly chart flashes warning signs. DEXE has retraced almost its entire 2025 decline, climbing from near $1.73 back to the $24.20 ceiling that has capped its price since February 2025.

This week’s candle tagged that level and got rejected, closing near $23.50. Price reclaimed the 0.618 Fibonacci support around $15.60, which keeps the structure bullish for now.

However, weekly volume is falling as price prints new highs. The relative strength index shows bearish divergence, sliding since April even as DEXE climbs to a fresh high.

Both signals suggest the move lacks a strong buying base. The pattern echoes other leverage-driven altcoins that spiked and then faded.

The bear market structure on the weekly chart remains intact and no confirmed reversal signal has appeared. $XRP is still technically within a larger downtrend that has been in place for months. However, the $1.13 level continues to hold as significant support on a weekly closing basis, which is the timeframe that matters most for confirming any directional move.

That level has been in focus for a long time. When $XRP was trading well above $1.30, the call was that a break below $1.30 would produce a swift move toward $1.13. That played out precisely. Now $1.13 is the line that separates the current situation from a more serious breakdown. A confirmed weekly candle close below it, followed by a failure to recover above it, would open the path toward a sub-dollar target in the $0.87 to $0.90 range.

The Head and Shoulders That Is Fading

Over the past several days, a potential head and shoulders pattern was forming on the four-hour chart, which would have been a bearish signal if confirmed. That pattern is now looking increasingly unlikely to complete. The recent bounce has extended far enough that the right shoulder is becoming disproportionately large compared to the left, which effectively invalidates the formation before it ever triggers.

An ascending line of support on the four-hour chart is also sitting right around the $1.13 zone, reinforcing that level from multiple technical angles simultaneously.
