A redemption that used to take days cleared in about five seconds. The names in the room matter more than the speed, and the question for $XRP holders is where the token actually sits in the flow.

On June 12, JPMorgan, Mastercard, Ondo Finance, and Ripple completed a test that moved a tokenized United States Treasury through a full redemption on the $XRP Ledger. The settlement finished in roughly five seconds.

The same operation on traditional rails takes three to five business days. crypto.news shared the result the day it happened, and within hours the $XRP community had folded it into the familiar story: another institution, another marquee logo, another reason the token should be worth more than it is.

The speed is real and the participants are real. What deserves a closer look is the part the headlines skip, which is the exact role $XRP the asset plays when a tokenized Treasury changes hands on its ledger.

That answer is more interesting than a simple win or loss. It sets the boundary on how much a holder should read into the news.

Bitwise Asset Management is integrating its crypto model portfolios into Parrot Finance's retail investing app, testing whether professional allocation frameworks can reach retail investors via automated software rather than advisor dashboards.

The June 18 partnership gives Parrot clients access to portfolios built around broad crypto exposure, thematic strategies, systematic monitoring, and rebalancing, moving a product set first aimed at advisors into a consumer-facing recommendation interface.

The current evidence shows a distribution shift rather than a flow signal. Bitwise said Parrot clients collectively hold more than $200 million on the platform, but the companies did not disclose how many clients will allocate to the models or how much capital could move through them.

The Cardano network ranks as one of the most decentralized networks in the crypto space, as the chances of compromise become nearly impossible.

Decentralization in this context refers to the even distribution of control and authority among network participants.

A well-decentralized network has broader participation in decision-making and is censorship resistant. Currently, Cardano ranks among the top four in crypto networks with these features.

Cardano Nakamoto Coefficient at 23

This ranking was determined by the Nakamoto coefficient. Named after Bitcoin founder Satoshi Nakamoto, the metric measures how decentralized a network is using multiple factors. One is the minimum number of independent entities that have enough control to disrupt consensus.

Disrupting consensus for a Proof of Stake mechanism requires 33% of the total stake or voting power. For Proof of Work, a miner would need 50% of the total hash power to achieve censorship.

The higher a network’s Nakamoto coefficient, the more decentralized it is. As of June 23, Cardano has a score of 23, the fourth-highest among all blockchains. This means that it would take the agreement of 23 independent network contributors to compromise the network. Analysts view this as a nearly impossible scenario in practice.

Notably, only three networks are more decentralized than Cardano using this metric. Polkadot ranks first with a Nakamoto coefficient of 178, the Ton Network ranks second at 72, while Avalanche ranks third at 26.

Agustín Carstens, former general manager of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) and a member of the Global Finance & Technology Network's international advisory board, praised stablecoins for their ability to promote financial inclusion and innovation.

“I have come to appreciate what stablecoins can do to promote financial innovation, inclusion and to reduce costs,” said Carstens during a welcome address at Point Zero Forum on Tuesday. “We should try to establish conditions where we can live with fiat money and stablecoins.”

The remarks reflected a softer stance on stablecoins than Carstens took during his time at the BIS, when he was among the most prominent crypto critics. In a January 2022 speech, he said that stablecoins may not function as “sound money” because issuers have incentives to invest reserve assets in a “risky manner” to generate returns.

In one of his final speeches as BIS general manager in June 2025, Carstens also warned that stablecoins could emerge as a source of liquidity risk and still fell short of the three key tests money must fulfill to serve society.

While Carstens has taken a more favorable view of stablecoins, current BIS officials have remained critical of their role in the broader financial system.

Carstens’ successor and current BIS general manager, Pablo Hernández de Cos, said in April that the stablecoin market remains “small” and that its structural features constrain its ability to function as money.
