Treasury Sanctions Three Individuals and Six Entities for Routing Crypto to ISIS
The U.S. Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control designated three individuals and six entities on June 22 for facilitating financial transactions on behalf of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, targeting a network that used money service businesses and cryptocurrency to move ISIS funds across Europe, the Middle East, and West Africa.

The action covers a Syria-based bitcoin exchange, two Turkish money services firms, three Nigerian currency bureaus, and the individuals who own or operate them. OFAC identified two TRON blockchain addresses linked to a French national designated for conducting transactions with ISIS affiliates and providing explosives-related instructions to ISIS supporters.

Bitcoin Xchange's Syria-to-Europe Pipeline

Abdelhakim Boukich, a former Dutch national now based in Syria, was designated for establishing and directing Bitcoin Xchange, a Syria-based money service business. According to the Treasury press release, Boukich and Bitcoin Xchange transferred money on behalf of ISIS associates from multiple countries, including Norway, Belgium, the Netherlands, South Africa, and the United States. The SDN listing notes Boukich is also known as "Abu Sulayman Alholandi" and "Muhammad Babili."

Two Turkish MSBs, Spider Gayrimenkul Ve Genel Ticaret Limited Sirketi and Alkaram Danismanlik Gayrimenkul Ic Ve Dis Genel Ticaret Limited Sirketi, were also designated. Both are owned and controlled by Mohamad Alhmidan, previously designated by OFAC for facilitating logistical and financial support for ISIS and helping foreign terrorist fighters. Spider originated as a hawala operating in Syria, transferring money from ISIS-controlled territory to other regions; Alkaram operates as a front for Spider.

XRP Adoption Takes A Hit as Network Activity Drops by Nearly 50%

XRP traded largely sideways Monday as broader crypto markets showed signs of hesitation and fading momentum.

The sixth-largest crypto asset is now caught between weakening on-chain fundamentals and a more stable but still fragile price structure. 

Fresh data, highlighted by analyst Ali Martinez and based on Santiment metrics, shows that XRP network activity has dropped sharply over the past two weeks. 

“XRP network activity has dropped by nearly 50% in the past two weeks, as active addresses declined from 50,000 to around 25,000.” The pundit tweeted Friday.

This steep reduction suggests that fewer users are interacting with the XRP Ledger, indicating a cooling phase in transactional demand and a slowdown in adoption momentum following a period of elevated activity.

While the drop in network usage raises concerns about short-term engagement, sentiment data is telling a more complex story. 

Earlier this week, Santiment also reported that XRP sentiment had reached its most negative reading of 2026, reflecting a surge in bearish commentary across social platforms.

Baillie Gifford Launches UK-Regulated Tokenized Bond Fund on Solana and Ethereum With BNY
Baillie Gifford, the Edinburgh-based investment firm, has launched a tokenized corporate bond fund natively on Solana and Ethereum, making it the first publicly available, fully native UK-regulated tokenized fund issued on public blockchains.

The fund, called the Baillie Gifford Enhanced Yield Fund with ticker $BAGEY, targets roughly 7% annual yield through active fixed-income management, CoinDesk reported Monday. BNY provides the tokenization and wallet infrastructure. Baillie Gifford's digital-assets unit BGDA announced the launch describing it as "an actively managed bond fund, issued natively onchain, with the blockchain as the legal source of truth." Fund size at launch has not been disclosed publicly.

Native, Not Wrapped

Most tokenized funds operate through a wrapper structure: investors hold a tokenized receipt representing a claim on a fund whose ownership records remain off-chain in a traditional registrar. BAGEY uses a different architecture. The token itself is the legal holding. Subscriptions and redemptions settle in $USDC directly against the chain. Solana's official account confirmed the design: "Not a wrapper. The blockchain is the register of record."

That structure has practical implications for institutional custody and settlement. Removing the transfer-agent intermediary layer means ownership transfers settle at blockchain speed, with $USDC clearing replacing traditional T+2 processes.

BNY's Infrastructure Role

BNY, the world's largest custodian by assets under custody, handles Solana and Ethereum wallet infrastructure, tokenization mechanics, and regulatory integration with the UK's Financial Conduct Authority-regulated fund structure. The bank has been expanding its digital-asset custody footprint across multiple chains.

Solana faces $75 hurdle – Can strong ETF demand push SOL higher?Solana [SOL] rebounded above the $70 mark with price up by about 2% in the past 24 hours at press time,  amidst a wider market recovery. Notably, the daily trading volume was up more than 20% to around $2.20 billion.

Solana’s rally began late last week after a TD Sequential buy signal, lifting the price about 8% from $68 to $74. However, momentum now appears to be shifting on shorter timeframes.

As the price of Solana rises above $70,  it encounters a heavy resistance at $75, which could be a hurdle to this recovery.

Moreover, the TD Sequential has flashed sell on the 4-hour timeframe as it tests its resistance trendline. The resistance is coinciding with the 200 SMA, showing its a strong area of supply. As such, it could suggest that SOL is about to undergo a minor pullback to $72 or even lower levels.However, SOL remains structurallybullish in the near-term. In fact, Solana was showing more strength than Ethereum [ETH], explaining why its Solana ETFs inflows and network activity remain strong contrary to what the charts could do.

Looking at Solana Spot ETFs flows in the last week, the net inflows were more than $7.11 million. The shift from negative readings of $2.54 million to positive aligned with the price jump.

This was an indication that SOL ETFs inflows play a part in influencing its movement as they represent capital flows into and out of the ecosystem.In addition to that, Solana network activity was accelerating each day. Its daily chain transactions have doubled since January, expanding from 60 million to 120 million.
