Whittaker made the remarks in a Bloomberg interview about policy, privacy and Signal, where she was asked about the privacy risks tied to chatbots such as ChatGPT and Claude. “These are not your friends. These are not conscious beings. These are not sentient interlocutors,” she said.

She said she sometimes uses AI tools “to format a document here and there,” but does not ask them questions. Whittaker said she is “very serious” about her thinking and writing, and does not want that process cut off by a system “averaging what’s already out there.”

Her comments fit Signal’s broader position that private communications should not become input for systems built around broad data access. The warning was not framed as a rejection of every AI use, but as a rejection of treating chatbots as trusted personal counterparts.

Algorand Reveals Plans to Become Quantum Resistant by 2027
The Proof-of-Stake (PoS) blockchain network, Algorand, has revealed that it is pushing toward becoming quantum-resistant by the end of 2027. The announcement comes as concerns about the post-quantum threat rise in the crypto space.

According to a blog post by the network’s team, the quantum threat has been deemed a serious risk to the security of blockchain technology. Hence, Algorand has outlined a roadmap detailing its efforts, plans, progress, milestones, and ongoing research in the area of post-quantum cryptography (PQC).

Algorand Pushes for Quantum Resistance

Google Quantum AI recently identified Algorand among a set of smart-contract platforms that can achieve PQC. The blockchain already executed its first PQC-secured transaction in 2025 and intends to complete the full PQC transition in less than two years.

“Post-quantum migration is a balancing act. Moving too slowly leaves systems exposed to future quantum attacks, but moving too quickly can mean relying on algorithms and implementations that have not yet been sufficiently battle-tested,” Algorand’s team explained.

The first step in the roadmap is introducing support for native post-quantum accounts in the protocol release scheduled for the third quarter of 2026. Previously enabled Falcon accounts via the Algorand Virtual Machine (AVM) currently demonstrate the viability of post-quantum signatures on the Algorand protocol, but these are not natively supported by the ledger. The introduction of native post-quantum account support will give room for network-level support for multiple concurrent signature schemes.

After the Algorand team establishes a clear direction for standardizing a new derivation scheme for lattice-based post-quantum keys, the network will implement PQC updates to its tools. These include legacy software development kits (SDKs), hardware wallets, and the AlgoKit. Eventually, the net

NeoPod, Neo’s community ambassador program, will host its second AMA session on Saturday, July 6, with grassroots community builder Aziz. The text-based AMA will run at 6:00 p.m. (UTC) in the #Proposal-Questions-AMA channel of the NeoPod Discord server.

Aziz is an independent community member who is best known as the builder behind NeoRedPill, a Matrix-inspired memecoin on the Neo N3 blockchain, and NeoUltimateShop, a web store for Neo-related merchandise. Aziz has been involved in Neo since 2017.

The session follows NeoPod’s first AMA on June 10, which featured NNT writer and editor Dylan Grabowski discussing governance and ecosystem strategy. NeoPod relaunched as “NeoPod 2.0” earlier this year, opening a dedicated Discord server on April 1 as the first step toward the refreshed program.

NeoRedPill is a community-led memecoin, a token whose value is driven primarily by community interest rather than an underlying product. It launched in January 2025 as a NEP-17 token on Neo N3 with an initial distribution across 66 wallets. It has since grown into an active community that hosts regular events.

Crypto firmed over the weekend after Friday's sell-off, with bitcoin recovering toward $64,000. Permanent ceasefire talks open in Switzerland, but Iran's order to close the Strait of Hormuz again revives the risk the deal was meant to settle.

itcoin steadied near $64,000 over the weekend, clawing back part of Friday's drop, as traders weighed the start of US-Iran ceasefire talks against a renewed threat to close the Strait of Hormuz.

The token traded around $64,200 on Sunday, up 0.9% over 24 hours but roughly flat on the week, per CoinDesk data, after dropping below $63,000 on Friday. Most majors firmed alongside it.

Ether rose 0.5% on the day and 3.3% on the week to $1,734, solana gained 1.5% to $73 and tron added 1.2%. Hyperliquid's HYPE slipped 2% on the day but remains the week's standout, up 14.8%. Dogecoin was the weakest major, down 4.9% over seven days.
Bitcoin has gone nowhere on net this week, rallying early on the signed Iran deal, selling off Friday in a broad risk-off move, and stabilizing over the weekend.

The weekend's focus is Switzerland, where US and Iranian officials, including Vice President JD Vance, are due to open talks on a permanent ceasefire, per Bloomberg.

The negotiations follow the memorandum of understanding President Donald Trump signed last week, which set a 60-day window that can be extended.

The backdrop is less settled than that suggests, however. Iran has issued a renewed order to close the Strait of Hormuz, the shipping chokepoint whose reopening under the deal pulled oil prices down about 9% last week and lifted risk assets.
