Japanese and South Korean Stock Markets Open High but Close Lower; KOSPI Slightly Declines

On June 19, influenced by the U.S.-Iran situation, the stock markets of Japan and South Korea opened high but closed lower on Friday. The Nikkei 225 index closed up 196.57 points, an increase of 0.28%, after briefly dipping over 0.5% during the day, finishing at 71,250.06 points. The South Korean KOSPI index closed down 14.81 points, a decrease of 0.16%, after experiencing a drop of over 3% at one point, ending at 9,049.03 points. (Jinshi)
