Custodia and Vantage Bank have proposed a token that automatically switches between a bank deposit and a stablecoin as it moves between participating banks and external users.

According to a white paper shared with Cointelegraph on Thursday, the token would operate as a deposit issued by a participating bank when held within a banking consortium and as a stablecoin backed by cash and short-term Treasurys when transferred outside the so-called Hazel network.

Wealthsimple

brings 4,000 Kalshi prediction market contracts to CanadaWealthsimple has secured approval to offer roughly 4,000 prediction market contracts in Canada, expanding retail access to event-based trading through a new partnership with Kalshi.

According to Wealthsimple, the company plans to launch a standalone prediction markets platform called Wealthsimple Predict this summer, giving Canadian investors access to thousands of contracts listed by Kalshi across categories such as financial markets, economic data, and climate-related events.

The rollout follows authorization from the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization in March. Under the approval, Wealthsimple became the second investment dealer permitted to offer prediction market contracts in Canada. CIRO said the products will be regulated as derivatives and must carry settlement periods of at least 30 days.

Wealthsimple's launch arrives as prediction markets continue to attract attention from regulators, lawmakers, and traditional exchanges in several countries. Total value locked in the canonical bridge of World Chain, the Optimism Stack rollup operated by Worldcoin's Tools for Humanity, climbed 32.87% over seven days to about $602M, according to a DefiLlama snapshot earlier this morning. The token tracked the move, with $WLD up over 50% in the same window.

The bridge holds assets locked on Ethereum that mirror across to the L2, and at $605 million, it’s the chain's deepest pool of collateral. Re7 Labs, the risk curator running the most active lending vaults on the chain, now sits at $32.69M deployed on World Chain, about 35% of its $92M cross-chain book. Morpho Blue is the lending venue underneath those vaults. The growth puts World Chain among the fastest-moving names in the lower tier of the L2 ranking on a percent basis, even as Base, Arbitrum and Optimism still dwarf it in absolute scale.

Morgan Stanley has updated its proposed Ethereum and Solana exchange-traded funds with a staking structure that would allow 95% of staking rewards to remain within the trusts while charging a 0.14% annual sponsor fee.

According to amended S-1 registration statements filed by Morgan Stanley, both the Morgan Stanley Ethereum Trust and Morgan Stanley Solana Trust would stake portions of their underlying crypto holdings to generate additional income for investors.

The filings disclosed that staking service providers and custodians would receive 5% of staking rewards as compensation, while the remaining 95% would stay in the funds.

Under the proposed structure, Morgan Stanley stated that the sponsor would not receive any staking rewards beyond the management fee. The filings indicate that staking income would accrue to the trusts rather than being redirected to the fund sponsor.

The amendments represent another step in Morgan Stanley’s efforts to expand its digital asset product lineup after entering the spot Bitcoin ETF market earlier this year.
