Aster Sets 198% ASTER Buyback and Burn Model

Aster said that it updated ASTER tokenomics, raising its buyback and burn ratio to 198%. Starting at 12:00 PM UTC, 99% of daily platform fees will buy back ASTER, while an equal amount is burned from reserves, making the model a paired buyback-and-burn mechanism.

The change affects ASTER stakers and holders tracking how protocol fees flow back into the token economy. Repurchased ASTER is set to go to stakers through Loyalty Rewards, while the reserve burn matches purchases one for one, meaning rewards and supply reduction move in parallel.

The next point to watch is whether daily TWAP execution and on-chain settlement make the process easy to verify. Aster also tied permissionless Spot listing fees to additional ASTER buybacks, so fee transparency becomes the key follow-up.

The SHIB price drop in the last 24 hours comes as the crypto market faces selling pressure ahead of today's Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) interest-rate decision, which marks the first meeting under new Fed Chair Kevin Warsh. Investors are largely expecting that the Fed will hold interest rates steady.

Warsh's communication style will be watched closely by investors after eight years of listening for monetary policy clues from Jerome Powell, who closed out his tenure as Fed Chair in May.

Bull trap or setup?
The market traded in the red at press time, with activity slowing. Crypto futures volume fell 16.56% in 24 hours to $165 billion and open interest dropped 2.66% to $110 billion.In this light, Shiba Inu trading volume across spot exchanges fell 45.28% in the last 24 hours to $53.9 million. The same scenario was seen in the derivatives market as volumes fell 59.03% in the same time frame to $65.64 million. With a 12% price surge, Hyperliquid [HYPE] extended its rally for a sixth consecutive day. Whale and institutional demand continued to support the move.

At press time, HYPE traded at $71.75, up 12% over the past 24 hours. Trading volume also jumped 98% to $1.33 billion, reflecting strong market participation.

The rise in volume alongside price suggested investors remained confident in the ongoing uptrend.

Growing interest from whales and large market participants continued to support HYPE’s rally.

Recently, Onchain Lens reported that a whale deposited $5.5 million in USDC to Hyperliquid and opened a long position on 120,000 HYPE worth $7.86 million using 10x leverage.

Meanwhile, another analyst reported that wallet address 0xf7A withdrew 47,000 HYPE worth $3.16 million from Bybit.

On top of that, Wall Street investors appeared to be following a similar trend. According to SoSoValue, HYPE spot ETFs recorded $17.19 million in inflows on the 15th of June 2026. The inflows pointed to growing demand from traditional investors and added another layer of support to the rally.
