Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF), the founder of the bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange FTX, announced that he plans to launch a new cryptocurrency project after being released from prison. Bankman-Fried, who is currently serving a 25-year prison sentence, sparked renewed debate in the cryptocurrency sector with his announcement.

SBF spoke about his future plans during a meeting with fellow inmate David Bunewacz in prison. Bankman-Fried said he wanted to return to business after his release and that he would need between $50 million and $100 million in initial capital to establish a real company.

SBF’s most striking announcement was his plan to launch a new digital asset. The former FTX founder stated that he would launch his own cryptocurrency after his release, claiming that investors would show great interest in the project.
