FBI Foils Terror Plot Against Trump, 23 Individuals Involved

On June 17, FBI Director Kash Patel announced that the FBI successfully thwarted a coordinated terrorist attack plot against the White House. The plot was scheduled to be executed on June 14 during Trump’s 80th birthday celebration and the UFC 'Freedom 250' fight, which was attended by approximately 4,300 people, including 1,200 active-duty military personnel. The conspiracy was revealed to have three phases: the first phase involved a drone attack loaded with explosives targeting buildings around the White House to create mass chaos; the second phase aimed to trigger a large-scale evacuation of the crowd due to panic, directing fleeing individuals into a pre-set area where a team of snipers would open fire; the third phase involved a surprise attack on the White House entrance amid the chaos. The plot was timely uncovered due to a relative of one of the involved individuals alerting the authorities. The FBI obtained threat intelligence on June 10—four days before the planned attack—and traced it to an informal network operating through the Signal encrypted communication app. A total of 23 individuals have been confirmed as part of this network, with five suspects arrested in Ohio, Missouri, and California. U.S. Secret Service Director Sean K. O'Brien stated that the Secret Service is working around the clock to track all individuals involved. Trump himself commented to reporters on Tuesday while attending the G7 summit in France that he has not yet received a formal briefing on the thwarted plot.
