The consumer inflation in the United States for the month of May reached 4.2% year-on-year, while core inflation moderated to 2.9%.

The assets under management of digital asset treasury companies registered a contraction that reduced their global funds from $220 billion to approximately $140 billion.

Brent crude reported a drop from the high $110 range to the $80 per barrel band following the announcement of the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

Following several weeks of high macroeconomic volatility, the crypto market seems to be recovering its valuation. The leading currency, Bitcoin increased 1.9% in its daily value driven by the stabilization of inflationary indicators in the United States and the reduction of global geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.

Liquidity channels and weakness in institutional funds

The apparent recovery of the digital asset market shows signs of structural weakness due to the lack of fresh circulating capital. The most recent report from Wintermute reveals that the sustainability of the current trend directly depends on the reactivation of three key financial channels: stablecoins, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and institutional treasury companies. The market-making platform detailed that investment funds based on the pioneer crypto recently suffered their longest streak of outflows since their official launch.

Macroeconomic data from the last week partially relieved selling pressure on risk assets. The US consumer price index positioned itself in line with market expectations, mitigating institutional traders’ fears of a possible monetary tightening. Mystake, Goldenbet, Donbet, Velobet, Cosmobet, Freshbet and Rolletto – brands long linked to Curaçao operator Santeda International B.V. – went dark on the evening of Sunday, June 14, some showing 404 errors and others stripped of their game libraries, as reported by Next.io. Research body GAMRS said the blackout followed several B2B slot suppliers pulling their products after sustained pressure to stop serving unlicensed operators.

On X, Mystake called the disruption “scheduled maintenance.” GAMRS chief executive Jordan Lea framed it differently, telling reporters that for “20 or so hours, users were left not knowing if their funds were gone or not,” and claiming the sites were down on mobile across the UK and most of Europe. Most brands were back the next day, though – by his account and others – not all of their previous games returned.

The episode showed how dependent these operators are on third-party slot content – and how little else the takedown touched. The sportsbook and the crypto payment rails kept running; within a day, Mystake was promoting World Cup betting again.

GAMRS has tracked the network for months. Its research estimates the Santeda group turned over roughly $4.7 billion (£3.51bn) in 2025 – about $1.6 billion (£1.2bn) on Mystake alone – with some 64% of revenue from UK consumers and around $2.7 billion (£2.02bn) deposited by British players a year. The brands lean on “not on Gamstop” affiliate marketing aimed at self-excluded gamblers; 96 UK respondents reported losing about $322,500 (£241,152) on Mystake. As scrutiny grew, the operator moved its Curaçao license from Santeda to a vehicle called GTW B.V., then dissolved both.

BNB Chain accounts for 8.5%, followed by zkSync Era (7.5%), XRP Ledger (5.8%) and Stellar (5.4%), reflecting the sector’s gradual expansion beyond Ethereum.

Some observers also speculated that Hyperliquid's growing relationship with Coinbase could deepen after making Circle's $USDC the primary trading pair on the platform. Under the arrangement, part of the revenue generated from U.S. Treasury securities backing $USDC will be used to purchase $HYPE tokens.
