Each of these levels has been a critical touchpoint for previous cycle lows.

Based on these indicators, Cowen assigns a 75% probability that Bitcoin will experience further declines before a true bottom is established. He identifies the $78,000-$79,000 range as a significant resistance zone, representing the flip from previous bull market support to overhead resistance. Until Bitcoin decisively breaks above this level, the bear market structure is considered to remain intact, with tactical rallies being normal occurrences within a larger downtrend. Cowen's projection places the most likely bottom in Q4 2026, aligning with a 4-year cycle, and suggests a potential price target around the balance price of $39,000, indicating a decline consistent with previous, slightly less severe bear markets. He remains open to revising his outlook if Bitcoin fails to make a new low by October, emphasizing that his thesis is data-driven.
